Interesting...

Up until today, I had thought that Joker was out of theaters on January 10th. The-Numbers hadn't updated it since then, and it was only running in 85 theaters before that last day.

They just updated it with a whole mess of days and it looks like it's still in theaters to this day.

The Oscar buzz must have made them open more theaters for it because it jumped back up to over 800 theaters there for a while.

It didn't add much to the overall total in the last few weeks, but right now this makes it 18 weeks in the theaters. Compare that to Avengers: Endgame that had 20 weeks, and Captain Marvel that only had 17.

With how little it pulled in the last few weeks, it will never catch up to Captain Marvel, but right now it's only 59 Million behind. Not bad for an R Rated flick that didn't get a release in China and cost 1/5th to make.

Once the blu-ray and streaming totals are finished for both movies I expect Joker will have made 100 Million or more than Captain Marvel did.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

lol

Looks like Joker got a week 19 and still has 348 theaters playing it.

Beats Cats and Maleficent on Friday night.

One more week and it was in theaters as long as Avengers: End Game.

Two Oscars
Best Actor
Best Score

All things considered, it was a solid field and with very good films all around, so 2 awards is pretty damn good, considering the nature of the film and it's general dark message.

Best Score was an easy throwaway that Joker was going to get no matter what.

Joaquin only got Best Actor because he sold his woke speech at an awards show a few weeks earlier.

I haven't at this moment yet decided if I should throw him under the bus with the rest of them and just say fuck it altogether, or if I should applaud the man for playing the system.

Who's to say?

He is, after all, the best actor of a generation.

2nd actor to win an Oscar for playing the role of Joker.

Also, Parasite won best Foreign film. Why isn't that grounds for disqualifying it for best overall film?

My unsupported conspiracy theory is that Joker was the best film winner, but woke Hollywood decided it simply couldn't allow that, so they gave a 2nd award to the Korean film, thus making a bold, historic choice.

C'mon man. You knew that there was zero chance in hell that our Woke "academy" was going to let Joker win.

There was zero chance in hell that Todd Phillips was going to get any awards at all after this...

That's why I'm hesitant to jump on any Joaquin hate-train for his recent speeches which without a doubt lead to his Oscar win. He's great at playing characters both on and off screen. Who the hell knows what's going on in that head of his? He might have just played everybody.

Playing "woke hero" for a bunch of Hollywood Elite parasites after playing that role is certainly a better choice than what the last Joker did with his life after letting that monster into his head.

I think Ricky Gervais said it best when asked what his first line would have been if he had hosted the Oscars:

I can’t wait to hear all your inspirational speeches about equality, and it’s great that the 3 hours you’re here tonight is the only time your badly paid migrant house staff will get some time off to sleep this week. ~Ricky Gervais, via Twitter

BTW...

Joker does in fact still have a place in the Box Office for the week beginning on Friday February 14, 2020. It has been cut to 165 theaters from 501, but that makes Joker's theatrical release a full 20 weeks.

That officially means it was in the theaters as long as Avengers: End Game.

I wonder if it can eek out one more? Before the Oscar hype brought it back up to over 800 theaters a while back, it was only showing in 80+ theaters. It just might possibly end up with a longer Box Office than End Game did.

Our Trump lovers can't stop praising Joker. Joker is just another financially efficient movie about murder. Another efficient murder movie is Saw (2004) with worldwide box office 86.6 times production budget. Joker had only a worldwide box office of 19.5 times production budget. There are seven Saw sequels with the last being Jigsaw (2017) with worldwide box office at 10.4 times production budget. Joker cannot compete with Saw and there will not be a Joker sequel. What would it be about? Would it be the same story, but from the point of view of Joker’s murder victims? I don’t think so.
