Well, even Bolt-on isn't confirming it's in the book.
When it comes to WMDs, I guess he thought he could skate on them until either something showed up or people forgot.
But that book ...
... if he testifies AND HE CAN'T TESTIFY UNDER OATH IT'S IN THERE - and he even HINTED it was in there - it's an immediate credibility problem. So he can't confirm anything ahead of time. He's going for plausible deniability. Let everyone else spread the lies while he stays mum. Then when he gets up on the stand, he can say he never made that claim, and talk about everything but. Yanno, have his mouth shit more rumors, more gossip, more non-events.
The fact that he's not confirming it's in the book is the reason why I think this is just a set-up to shoehorn him onto the stand for more bullshitting.
