And I don't apologize for that reaction; come into my house and take a sh*t in my living room, and I'll react the same way. It may be 'boring', but it's true to my nature.
Having said that, I hope 'Jonas sticks around, and stays as irreverent as he likes, short of being insulting. Insulting others without them wanting to kill you is the most delicate of arts; perhaps a different tactic might prove more efficacious...

Zoid, just so u know, I hope u stay. Even when I don't agree with your comments, they're always well argued, and never unneccesarily insulting (Anyone who comes here to slag off firefly or its fans deserves all they get).
And if anyone else starts hassel for you on this site let me know. Me and Malicious will gang up on them for you and hijack every gorram thread they post.

Are we still voting? An emphatic stay for me. I thoroughly enjoy most of what you post (can't say "all of what you post" just because I try not to make absolute type statements, unless it's in a request to a bartender, then it's Absolut away ... Hmmm. Where was I?). In addition, I always get a kick out of the way you vary the closing line before you sign off (what the hell is that thing called? Opposite of salutation? Oh well. But I digress.).
The Fireflyfan community wouldn't be the same without you. Now if we could just get Succatash to brighten our lives with some more wackiness...

Not really sure when or where this Jonas got a bur stuck under his saddle, but I have to chime in w/ the rest of the community Zoid when I say that you are a permanent fixture here and the place would not be the same without you. I find your comments thought provoking and enlightening, so I am not sure what sort of malfunction this Jonas character has, but I cast my vote for ignoring him/her.
That being said, I hate to see anyone leave, but if they are looking to cause trouble I won't ask 'em to stay.

Thank you all for your supportive words and thoughtful responses. I took a (not terribly risky) risk, by asking you for an affirmation of what I believe FFFn is all about: Respectfully engaging in discourse with others, whose singular interest is in Firefly. While we do stray into other topics 'in the key of life', our love of Firefly ties us together, and opens the channels of communication to discuss those other topics, on which we may occasionally vehemently disagree. At the end of the day, though, we can all be reunited by that singular unifying philosophy that Firefly represents. (Y'all know what that is, so I won't reiterate our values.)
Frankly, I'm happy to see my presumptions validated. I was fairly certain of the outcome. If I had been wrong, I would have resolutely left the site, as I promised. But mostly, I suggested this exercise to demonstrate to anyone who sought to sow discord, or randomly denigrate persons on this board by using broad generalizations, that this community knows who and what we are, and will not suffer such attempts lightly. No one can just weasel in here and tear us apart, no matter how much 'fun' they might think it would be trying.
And now, I think it's time to move on, with no grudges held against those who have perhaps had a harder time trying to figure out how to fit in... A harder time trying to say something that people will pay attention to... A harder time trying to figure out how to cut-and-paste a thousand emoticons into a single post ... So let's let this thread die now, especially since I'm getting a little embarrassed by all the love; I guess I'm not really 'dedicated thread' material. But I sincerely do appreciate y'all taking the time and effort to say all those nice things.
With that, I'll just say, "Last one out turns off the lights", (*zoid affects Michael Buffer voice*) and turn you over to... The Mistress of the Channel Changer... your favorite ThreadJacker... say it with me...
