Gee, I thought you guys would be sucking each others dicks over how wonderful it is to have "white men" as heroes.

You’re not very heterosexual, are you? Straight men generally don’t congratulate each other in such a fashion. Usually a high five is sufficient. But I guess you have learned something. Those “white men“ aren’t as concerned about identity politics as you. A good story is a good story regardless . That’s why I enjoyed black panther, for example. It was a solid story. Spiderman into the spider verse. Also a good story that included a diverse cast of Spiderman. Spider woman. Spider robots… . Island of dogs? Animated, yet also set in Japan. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. .. I could go on & on.

And yet, despite all I have said & all that I’ve posted, you still childishly cling to your unfounded beliefs . Keep doing yourself.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

Yup.

And I should point out that I'm not saying that Ford vs. Ferrari isn't a good movie. It might very well be a great movie. It might also be trash.

I just have no interest in seeing it. I rarely watch movies these days, even though I can watch literally ANYTHING I WANT TO on KODI for free. I have to at least find the premise of a movie somewhat interesting before I even consider investing that time. Anything about race cars just doesn't make the cut. I'm not trying to insult race car drivers or fans of race car driving either. I just couldn't care less about the subject myself.

That being said, if the makers of this movie are somehow trying to "go the other way" with it and get my money by being "anti-woke" by having white male leads in a movie I otherwise couldn't care less about, they've got another thing coming. lol

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Panties and tampons for this small group will be spared. Not to worry gentlemen, it's all good!

And, for the rest of the movie-going public; ignore what I just said. F v. F is based on the true story of Ken Miles, a Brit race car driver, and Carroll Shelby, an American car designer. It is about race car driving, yes, but it's much more. It's about a friendship between two men, both striving for excellence in their field and the struggles that spring from pursuing that dream.

It is an excellent story told expertly without incurring that boring sensation that oft accompanies a story of technical professional efforts. There is a strong woman in it, so ladies don't feel left out. Hollywood hasn't gone completely mental (like some of our more sensitive dolts here in Fireflyland).

Seriously, Matt Damon and Christian Bale are two pros who deliver every time out (the script was concise and snappy in it's storytelling), although, at times, they pick a loser, not so in Ford v. Ferrari. They are great together and boy do they deliver the goods. It's Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting and Stir Crazy all rolled into one. Well, maybe I overdid it just a touch, but you get my meaning. The chemistry between these two is palpable.
It is a good story with solid, if not, great performances.

Once upon a time, I knew who Shelby was, the creative genius behind the Ford Mustang GT, the ultimate in muscle cars. But, frankly, I don't know anything about LeMans racing or Ken Miles. Well, after seeing this movie, I still don't know much, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. So, don't go into it thinking you need to know, they will tell you. You'll laugh, you'll grab the edge of your seat and white-knuckle it, you'll cheer and you'll shed a tear (for those of us who are human).

4 out of 5 stars.

It actually looks kinda interesting to me. But I will catch it on DVD from my local library.

I will. I don't waste money on that streaming because there isn't much I will watch on those services. So DVD it will be. Even though I'm not much on car racing. The trailers I've seen show an interesting friendship between the two drivers.

Makes me wonder if Car Racing fans think the same of Hockey, Basketball, Golf, Volleyball.

To reduce confusion of those trying to follow your illogic, Shelby was about Car building, Car design, Car performance. Car performance is what has expanded the vehicle performance envelope to today's level of handling, suspension, braking, control, economy.

Oh wow. *gasp*

Still incredibly boring for a movie premise. Probably more so.

Sounds like you despise all forward progress. Such as Space Exploration, as depicted in Science Fiction. Have you heard of Firefly or Serenity?

I don't care about a movie about cars = I despise all forward progress.

Is your brain broken or something, or are you just looking for an argument over nothing.

If it's the latter, I'll direct you toward the RWED where there's plenty of arguing over nothing.

It doesn't sound like it is a movie abput cars. Perhaps about 2 guys. But also about engineering, the challenges of progressing. Just like that movie about critical engineering in a time crunch, Apollo 13 - it won some awards. And because of the interest in the engineering aspect, it spawned the follow up film, A Beautiful Mind - which also won some awards.
But, clearly, all of this is beyond the likes of you.
