With all of their willingness to lie to the courts, "modify" reports, hold back exculpatory evidence, and in general break the law (and the Constitution) and all of the surveillance, investigative, and prosecutorial arm-twisting powers at their disposal, why did they not come up with some silver bullet of provable FACT? (And with all of their powers, what do you suppose they should have found? Something more specific than "scumbag"?)

I fully acknowledge that Trump is quite possibly a dishonest businessman who craves attention and lacks focus, who confabulates to a pathological degree. But if all of that is true, there must be all kinds of real evidence against Trump that they could use. Didn't they raid Cohen's office? So why has the deep state chosen to make stuff up, to the point of breaking the law, lying to the courts, and soliciting help from foreign spy agencies?

So. Let's consider three possibilities
THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF WRONGDOING OR OF SERIOUS MENTAL DEFECT
The deep state, having combed thru Trump's business, medical, tax, personal, and communications records find no evidence of serious misconduct, so they have to make up shit whole cloth. This wouldn't be the first time that they tagged someone with a made-up story. What about Saddam's (nonexistant) weapons of mass destruction? Kavanaugh's (unprovable) groping sessions? Qadafi "massacring his own people"?
Given this record, what makes anyone think that the security agencies are above planting evidence, running false flags, lying to the courts, and breaking laws here in their own country?
THERE IS EVIDENCE OF WRONGDOING, BUT EVIDENCE IS WEAK OR NOT SUITED TO THEIR PURPOSE
So, they've found something about tax evasion, but the story isn't compelling enough to get Trump booted from office, or he's beyond statute of limitations or some such. They defer using real evidence in favor of making shit up about RUSSIA!RUSSIA! because that serves two purposes: (a) It reduces Trump's credibility and (b) it immediately blocks his foreign policy initiatives, which is their REAL heartburn all along.
THEY'RE NOT SERIOUSLY ATTACKING TRUMP, THIS IS JUST A SHOW
They have gone with something made up because in the end they know it won't succeed. They're simply using their propaganda blitz to institute widespread censorship of alternative media, further destroy protections enumerated in our Constitution, destroy the Democratic Party, or distract from whatever else they're doing in the background while everyone is mesmerzied by the political theatre.
Does anyone see any other possibilities?

But at the end of the day if the average Democrat voter had two days to digest all of what's going on around them without being shoveled another pile of bullshit about Trump to fuel their TDS, they'd take a look around them and realize that they have nothing at all in common with one another. Most of their ideologies not only don't overlap, but they're in outright opposition to each other.
You see glimpses of it here and there all the time, but before the stories take a life of their own the country is fed another heaping spoonful of Orange Man Bad and like dumb farm animals feed from the trough.

But I DO have some early observations about the impeachment process. I've been listening while doing other things - yanno, washing dishes and so on. And I haven't gotten past even the preliminary statements. But everyone - Schiff, Kent, and Taylor - has the same line of bullshit: Ukraine is vital to US national security (because ... ... ... ... ... (working on it) ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . Only Taylor managed to pose the question and spit out RUSSIA!!! as the answer.) The other thing Kent and Taylor emphasize is how non/bi-partisan they've been through their long careers. And finally, Kent and Taylor both emphasize how Trump's actions hurt US 'policy' (because, apparently, Trump can't make his own, but instead must trod on the path laid out by others, that both functionaries are accustomed to).
I kind of gather that both parties have been in-on the Deep State's agenda for decades. And that those two functionaries either have deep, unquestioned, axiomatic beliefs in what things are supposed to be like, OR, they lie through their teeth with great fluency and gusto. Both of them stated beliefs and positions that are deeply rooted in the anti-Russia meme. And both recited narratives that fly in the face of facts. For example, they both claimed that the Orange Revolution was a strike for freedom, instead of a coup against a democratically elected President, with elections scheduled for mere days from then. There were too many more blatant propaganda statements along these lines for me to remember, let alone document here. (I think we all already know that Schiff is shifty, considering he's already been caught out in some whoppers.)
Anyway, so far, on that this case is being built. Ukraine uber alles. It's the linchpin of US national security and democracy. Ukraine, and ONLY Ukraine = US national security, and don't you forget it!
Perhaps that line of BS, along with the players reciting it, helps define who's orchestrating this, and to what end.
