Our military supremacy doesn’t simply depend on us having the most firepower, it comes from us taking our values into battle. This is lost on President Trump, who seems to reduce war to its most basic element of one side killing another — of carnage with no regard for morality.

The flurry of activity on the president’s social media feed came hours before Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a National Security Council official overseeing Ukraine policy, is expected to tell investigators on Capitol Hill that Trump undermined U.S. national security when he pressured Ukraine’s president during a July phone call to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son.
“Why are people that I never even heard of testifying about the call,” Trump tweeted. “Just READ THE CALL TRANSCRIPT AND THE IMPEACHMENT HOAX IS OVER! Ukrain said NO PRESSURE.”

Whatever happened to all of the testimony against Kavanaugh? Was it time-pressure derailed any follow-up investigation Did anyone follow up on the testimony to see if more evidence of wrongdoing was found after-the-fact?
Or were the original premises WRONG, on the basis of all of the evidence that could be gathered? Were the accusations fundamentally baseless... and the press fundametnally dishonest ... or perhaps mis-directed? Instead of accusing Trump of "collusion" with Russians, for example, might it have been more realistic to accuse Trump of simply being unfit for the job? Or more honest to say that you disagreed with his policies?
Seriously, this was a learning opportunity that should have been too good to pass up. it would be a shame if you did't learn anything from it.

I'm asking this question (What did you learn?) in the hopes that it will spark you to ... er ... LEARN! From experience! It would be a shame to have gone thru all of this sturm und drang* ("storm and drive": high emotion and drama) ... all of this anxiety and anger ... without having learned anything.
So, the Mueller investigation and the Kavanaugh hearings didn't work out as you hoped. In fact, neither did the 2016 election.
Why?
Were your hopes placed on unrealistic expectations? Were your fears set alight by unfounded rumors? Did the media fail to keep you properly informed? Did you, yourself, fail in your due-diligence to suss out fact from hype? Did you KNOW that you were being unrealistic but were you hoping that the election/ investigations/ hearings would have their desired effect anyway, simply because you hate Trump for unrelated reasons, and did you fail to listen to that little voice of reason? How do you explain to yourself the disconnect between hope and result?
Dig into memory and try to understand why your fervently-desired results (and nightmare fears) failed to materialize, so that next time you won't be so far off the mark.
