Ok so I woke this morning to the Today Show on the TV and Matt is interviewing someone like the senior editor of people magazine (I think that was her title). They discussed the births of celebrity children the "It" guy and girl, and the Deaths of celebrities this year. It the latter discussion they mentioned Marlon Brando, Christopher Reeves, and Ray Charles. Matt comments that there has been a lot of talk about Ray since the movie with Jamie Foxx, and she responds:
"Yeah, It's too bad he didn't live to see it."

I don't know what part is funnier, the "live" to see it part, or the live to "see" it part....

Just today Britain's Home Secretary resigned, a much hated man called David Blunkett who happens to be blind. He was being interviewed from a studio in another location and the presenter asked before they went on air "Can you see and hear me?" Blunkett responded "Well, I can hear you."
We call this sort of TV/Radio goof a Colemanball in Britain. My favourite one was from 1991 when the Iraqi Information Minister (remember him?) tried to make pacify the West but unfortunately revealed his lack of film knowledge:
"The Gulf War won't be like a Rambo film; it will be long, bloody and terrible."

I was watching the local news one morning and a story came on wherein someone attempted to rob a convenience store at knife-point. The clerk ran the guy off with his mop, of all things. But the funny part was the newsguy saying afterwards: "The clerk said he would have just given up the money if the robber had a gun, which is what police recommend."
Headline: "COPS TO ROBBERS: USE GUNS NOT KNIVES"
I hate the idea that we are taught to be pansies and give up anything to somebody with a gun...f**k that! This nation would never be where it is today if we had that victim mentality throughout our history. I'm sorry, but the a**hole would have had a fight on his hands, mop or knee or baseball bat--whatever was most available. I always get this "Hey, it's MINE (car/money/stereo/what have you) mentalilty. I WORKED for it. I EARNED it. YOU go work and earn, a**hole!"
Sorry! Wow, I didn't know I felt so strongly about this!

Really? I thought it was KIND OF on topic...isn't it? I mean, it's "just wrong," right? I just got a little...carried away is all. Right?
Maybe hijacking is just in my blood or something. Perhaps I should not fly EVER.

Oh man, that is bad.
To quote my girlfriend, "You're going stright to hell for laughing as long and as hard as you did after reading that."
I wish I could think of a similar gaffe but all I can come up with is a stupid comment by a local reporter. There was video of a protester who had locked down with those metal pipes and a police officer used some of her pressure points to get her to let go. The reporter said, "Here we see police calming one of the women." I fell out of my chair laughing.
There are three kinds of people: fighters, lovers, and screamers.
