nobody in Ukraine knew about funds being withheld and so couldn't have been 'pressured' by that

Though, fwiw, I don't think it's just about Trump or the people here. I tracked your posts back in time, and your ungrounded thinking started some time ago ... after you lost your mom, and then your job. It's my sense that your mom - a real live person with whom you had daily contact and for whom you had real-world responsibilities that needed to be timely - kept you significantly grounded; as did your job to a lesser extent.
You've gotten lost in the endless vaporous loops of your own thinking.
ETA: I think that happens when you live in a situation without significant real-world connections, consequences, or feedback.

No amount of investigation ... either before-hand by Blix or afterwards by GWB could allay that fear because there was always some other possibility ... maybe Saddam buried them in the desert! Maybe he shipped them into Syria! Maybe ....
It's like your apocryphal "invasion" of Ukraine. Maybe the columns of tanks went across the border under cloud cover! Maybe artillery was placed under trees! Maybe troops were sent in disguised as Ukrainians ....

You can drive yourself nuts with maybes, chasing your fears into very dark corners with ever-less-likely scenarios. Yes, all of these things are possible, because as they say: Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. There are many horrible things going on without our knowledge, conspiracies among the wealthy, for example, to rob the rest of us of even more wealth. But you gotta go with what the bulk of the evidence shows, and some logic. Who benefits? What is the scope of this conspiracy/threat, and what KIND of evidence would it produce if it were happening?
Stop trying to drive JO crazier than he already is. You're not doing him any favors by encouraging his delusions.
I think there's a lot more at stake, and a lot more going wrong with the USA that can't be cured just by changing Dem for GOP "sides", and anyone who pretends that getting rid of Trump will solve our worst problems has either parted company with reality or is fundamentally anti-American because they care more about their party or their personal grotches than their fellow citizens.
