What was the final vote tally in the senate for Nixon's impeachment?

Like T says, you don't know what will happen until you take the next step.

Already, the so-called "transcript" is blowing up in his face. It's more of a farce - even black comedy - it's so bad. "Who the f*ck told him this would be a good idea to release!?!" It's a summary, not a transcript like they want us to believe, and even with that it clearly puts Trump in the cross hairs from his own words. He talks about Biden and his son and Hillary's server being in the Ukraine, and a Ukrainian prosecutor being a "great guy" even though many US intel consider him a Putin stooge and have tried to get rid of him.

It's early, but it's looking more and more like he's played the same (lying sack of sh*t) gambit one too many times.

Trump will NOT be convicted. The Democrats won't be able to get the 22 more Senators they need to convict. Bernie will vote with the Democrats, maybe also Angus King, the Independent from Maine, but who else? Nobody!

What will really kill Trump is his over-due tax bill. When the bill finally comes in a few years, he will have a stroke and die. This year, or maybe next year, I can look forward to the House of Representative's forensic accountants investigating Trump's tax returns and making Trump miserable and furious. And it should be an excellent lesson to other tax cheating 1 Percenters of America. As a bonus, the resultant increase in taxes collected from the newly compliant tax-cheaters will decrease the budget deficit.

You're like a broken record. I don't care what the senate republicans do. It appears to me you are like a deer stuck in the headlights. Therefore you would do nothing. This has to happen. If the voters don't like what the republicans do they will take care of business. After that the courts will take over when Trump loses in 2020. This is how it has to go down.

Lets hope the dems get it right. If they do Trumps fucked.

tick tock

For Nixon there was no vote in the Senate. The deal with Nixon was that the leadership in the Senate told Nixon they were gonna beat him to death for what he had done, but the torture would be stretched over many months. "Did he want to go ahead with a trial by torture?" Nixon was asked. Nixon immediately resigned. The leadership in today's Senate is Mitch McConnell. Trump often acts like he is above the law because McConnell lets him. If McConnell decided to lead Senate Republicans in investigating and curbing Trump’s corruption, abuses of power, and obstruction of justice, Trump’s options would be to reform his behavior or be ejected from office.

Instead, on Tuesday, McConnell signaled that he intends to continue protecting Trump from accountability or sanction.

How many Presidents were removed by the Senate? Zero. How many assassinated? Four. That makes me think Trump has a better chance of being killed in office than being removed by the Senate.

Then there was President Warren G. Harding, who was rumored to have been poisoned by his wife and/or his associates. He was such a huge dirt bag that there is no good reason to think he was not. His wife refused permission for an autopsy. It could happen to Trump.

This is why the modern day Federal Government is deadlocked while the Federal Government in the distant past was not. Nobody today believes there are any time limits on their own lives, unlike Presidents who went to war, such as Kennedy or earlier Presidents who knew in their guts that someday they will die from the misfortune of disease. Today, too many Americans think they have forever to finally make the best possible decision. And thus we live in an Age of Deadlock.

George H W Bush almost died in WWII. He was aware of the shortness of life and the need to compromise to avoid deadlock, while his son, Bush Jr who almost did nothing in the Texas National Guard, could not compromise. That dumbass, much like Trump who completely did nothing, thinks life goes on and on and on.

Yanno what?

Talk to the Democrats who had corpse Ted Kennedy falling off of stages from his dementia, or are keeping Ginsberg on life support in hopes that they can get Trump out of office before she croaks. While you're at it, maybe mention to them that pitting somebody who's already regressing to the mental state of a child like Joe Biden in a debate against Trump is probably not a good idea either.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Yanno what? On March 30, 1981, only 69 days into the new administration, Ronald Reagan was shot. Best thing that ever happened to him because it changed him from a goddamn fool of a Republican to somebody with enough wisdom to know his time is short. It is a lesson Trump has obviously not learned. You, neither.
