MOSCOW (Reuters) - A few thousand Russians took to the streets of central Moscow on Saturday to demand free elections to the capital's city legislature on Sept. 8, defying a ban which has been enforced with violent detentions during previous protests.

Weeks of demonstrations over elections for the city legislature have turned into the biggest sustained protest movement in Russia since 2011-2013, when protesters took to the streets against perceived electoral fraud.

Chanting "Russia will be free!" and "This is our city!", protesters marched through one of Moscow's thoroughfares. Reuters witnesses estimated their number at a few thousand, while Moscow police said only 750 attended the event, which has not been sanctioned by the government, making it illegal.

Anybody remember the days when Democrat voters didn't trust our intel agencies?

Those were good days.

A scientific sample of Putin's recent explosive diarrhea proves that Putin eats his Trump Steaks with ketchup, just like the US President likes to eat his.

It is unclear at this time whether it was Trump or Putin who influenced the other first with this odd culinary choice, but sources close to the President say they often meet to dine on overpriced steaks slathered in ketchup during secret meetings while discussing the merits of firing nukes at hurricanes.

If true, this is not only the proof of collusion the Democrats have been looking for to finally get the impeachment proceedings into full swing, but it also shows that neither Trump nor Putin have good taste.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Russia detains shaman on mission to 'banish Putin'

Russian police on Thursday said they had detained a Siberian shaman walking to Moscow on a mission to drive out President Vladimir Putin who he describes as a "demon".

Opposition leader Alexei Navalny has mocked the official reaction to the shaman as showing the Kremlin's paranoia about any sign of dissent.
"Putin is scared. He's already stomping his feet and shouting: "God save me from this shaman. What if he really does banish me?" Navalny said in a video blog on September 14.

Russian nuclear submarine fails to test fire ballistic missile: Vedomosti

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A Russian nuclear submarine taking part in military exercises overseen by President Vladimir Putin failed to test fire an intercontinental ballistic missile last week, the Vedomosti daily reported on Monday.

The nuclear submarine K-44 Ryazan, part of Russia's Pacific Fleet, was meant to launch two R-29R ballistic missiles from the Sea of Okhotsk on Oct. 17, but fired only one successfully with the other remaining in its tube onboard the submarine, Vedomosti reported, citing two people close to the Ministry of Defence.

Trump said he is pulling the troops out of Syria to bring them home to fulfill a campaign promise. Bullshit, they are going to Iraq. This is a betrayal of our allies to placate Putin.

Trumps a traitor.

Umm ... where's the disaster for Putin? This is like you posting about Turkey under Saudia (sic) Araba (sic) thread.

I guess you don't even respect the content of you own threads!

In any case, this is just a slow withdrawal. Iraq will eventually demand that our troops leave their country, so we will probably shift them over to Saudi Arabia.
