So I got hooked into reliving Angel via this gal, who is doing vids WAY after the air dates , to put it mildly. I'm guessin she's Australian ? Early 20ish, and it's just funny to watch her see Angel eps for the 1st time. Poor lass has NO Idea...

She does a bunch of other shows, some in the Whedonverse, others not, but I just had a blast reliving these episodes as she goes through them, 1 by 1.

They're edited, so each video is about 20 minutes long, give or take.

Biggest take away, for me - there's some damn good writing which still holds up. 20 freaking years later ! Alas, some stuff, like the absence of smart phones or the 'ancient' computers , are easy to spot , but wow... good times.

She's done Buffy and Dollhouse , as well as Agents of SHIELD. Also stuff like Supernatural, Constantine ( That's a show ? ) , Vampire Diaries, and Krypton.

My guess is she knows OF Firefly, but I can only speculate as to why she's not done it yet. It's only 1 season, maybe she's already seen it, doesn't bother with ' boring ' non magical shows or stuff that don't have monsters ?

She'd get a kick out of River, no doubt, and crush on Simon and Kaylee, not to mention Mal and Inara… chicks dig that romantic, lovey dovey stuff.

Did she do all of them?

Yeah, she did reviews of all, starting last December, and then Serenity. I've seen the first several, and she's still trying to figure out the whole River thing. She knows River ends up a super badass ( like a slayer, but in the future ) but still hasn't seen much evidence for it yet.

She thinks Jayne is mean, and ( as predicted ) is loving the Simon and Kaylee games.

So I'm about a year behind ( by the calendar ) on the release dates for her Angel vids. Trying to catch up , but also watching the Firefly eps too.

My 2 minor criticisms are 1. Her edits are kinda random, at least on the free side. I don't wanna sit through the whole original eps, which you can do, if you visit her on Patreon. ( yes, she's making a bit of coin off of this stuff, goodon her! )

2. She'll stop the video, on occasion and it's kinda funny, but she take a while to figure out what and how she's gonna say things. IDK if she's just blonde or what, but it's funny but also a bit annoying ? Must just be my preference.

On the upside, she's tossed in a few cut scenes, here and there, just to make her point … those are done well.

Rewatching these eps makes me wonder what the heck ever became of Stephanie Romanov ( Lyla ) ?? My god, she was easy as heck to watch on the show, but after Angel ended, her career basically ground to a halt.

Any word from the Whedoneque type fans on what the skinny was on her ?

Guess than answers it, a bit. She was smoke on Angel.
