IIRC, they talked about the “jump”-zoom (or whatever it’s called) in one of the dvd commentaries.
They were quite proud of it, then they noticed Lucas used it in Attack of the Clones.

Release dates.
As the movie release here in the US approaches, I took a peak to see who gets to see the KOTM first. Several get a May 29th opening, the more on the 30th, and then finally, here in the USA, on the 31st.
My ticket is for the 1st.
But I also notice one odd ball... Spain.
They have to wait 3 weeks, June 21, to see the movie.
What's up with that ??

Saw it. Liked, but not awesome as I'd hoped. MBB is adorbs, but the ending was a bit meh... had a GoT vibe to it in how the characters traveled vast miles...I'll not spoil nuttin . Yet.
Got a clue on how the monster verse may go forward. Some may like, im less enthused. Oh well.

As long as they don't have a scene with Mothra kicking ass to Just a Girl, the Godzillaverse should at least be tolerable going forward.

Mothra was fantastic and NOT a Mary Sue Kaiju !
Really, one of the better parts of the movie, imo. I may have to watch this one again.
If GoT and End Game were 5 and 6, respectively on the expectations reached scale ( 1- 10 ) , then I'd rate G: KOTM a 7. Maybe a 7.5. '
I wanted a 9-10, honestly. An 11 would have been better, but I'd have gladly taken a solid 8.
Will be interesting to see how they play G v K for next summer.

Oh cool. I didn't even know Mothra was in the movie.
I never really could get into the movies when I was a kid, but my bros and I got the Nintendo game for Christmas one year and it's still one of my all time favorites. Godzilla and Mothra were the good guys, and you went up against a whole lot of baddies from the movies. It was pretty ahead of its time back then, and the Boss battles of Monster vs Monster were kind of like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter before those games were even a thing.
A lot of games back then were pretty basic graphics, but they were so good in the Godzilla game that you didn't have to use much imagination to know what was going on. Huge step up at the time for kids who grew up playing Atari games. :)%20(Alt).png)

Godzilla has like 30 freaking movies from the Toho studios, but early on, they switched from terrifying kaiju to a more marketable, kid friendly story line. My god, there are some really cheesy , MST3K level bad versions of Godzilla, but there are a few really good ones too.
I only watched like 3-4 as a kid, but that was all I needed. The idea of Godzilla was stuck w/ me forever.
Gonna go watch again this weekend. ( Sorry Dark Phoenix, you're not getting my money )

I think by the time I was a kid it was just a bit to "old timey" for me or something. It's the same reason I couldn't get into Bond flicks when I was a kid either, or why I wouldn't watch anything that was black and white.
I like quite a few black and white movies today though. Maybe I should give the old Toho and Bond flicks another chance.
