How about a forum members gallery?

What would you think about a forum members gallery? Members could send in their pictures and we could get a feel for what everyone looks like. I'm a visual person, myself, so maybe it's just a good idea to me? I could host the gallery elsewhere if Haken doesn't want to have it on the actual site (maybe a bandwidth waster?).

So, what do you guys think?

Actually, it's a good idea. And we can host it on here. My original plan was for people to be able to upload pics of themselves and for the pics to appear in their profile.

And on the members list, I would have their pics with their names, not much different from avatars, and in fact, pics of themselves can be avatars.

Don't worry about bandwidth, for now I have a T1, which isn't much by today's standards, but it's sufficient for our use.

Perhaps people could edit their image as to not have it too recognizable or better yet, maybe upload baby or toddler pictures of themselves.

One of the things I like best about the 'net is that people can be what they want. There is no way to tell what race a person is, what sex they are, or how old they are. For me, seeing a persons image would spoil the utopia of the net. But that's just me. Now if you get the gallery going, I would send in an image, but not of me. Probaly of sopmeone or something that I would like to be.

It would be an opt-in thing, and for those who are interested it would be neat. Just don't count on me playing fair.

Here's another kinda interesting idea...

How about a voice gallery? There are a lot of people who are not interested in the photo gallery... so how about a gallery that showcases members' voices. They could .wav a sound file and submit it or something?

I think it's a cool idea for people to use if they see fit...

For myself, however, I've been infamous in other fora for avoiding cameras as though it's my job...

However, I promise, if this happens, to send a sufficiently entertaining image symbolic of all that I am... or at least part of what I am...
