Impeaching Donald Trump and removing him from office would not overturn the will of the people. The will of the people was that Hillary Clinton should be president. She secured 65.8 million votes to Trump’s 62.9 million. If we make the reasonable assumption that the millions of voters who cast their ballots for third-party contenders were also disinclined to make “the Donald” the president, then the anti-Trump total moves closer to 73 million. Impeaching and removing Donald Trump would make him what most voters wanted him to be when they cast their ballots in 2016: a citizen who does not hold the office of president.

Why is it a reasonable assumption that the millions of voters who cast their ballots for third-party contenders were also disinclined to make "the Donald president?

Or stated in a different way, why should it be assumed that the millions of voters who were disinclined to make "the Donald" or Hillary president would have voted for Hillary over "the Donald" if they were only able to vote in an either/or situation?

With no evidence either way, it could just as easily be argued that "the Donald" would have gotten those extra 7.2 Million votes and had won the popular election by over 3 million.


And at the end of the day, we are talking the Popular Vote. Which, as you know, means nothing.

73 million voters voted against Trump. They could have voted for him, but they didn't for obvious reasons. When Trump insists "the will of the people" selected him, he ignores that the majority of people voting didn't want him. He also lied when he claimed he would have won the popularity contest if only millions had not voted illegally against him. He is a conman and 6ix is a fool to not see his explanations are half-ass and all wrong.

Another bit of Trump's phony-baloney from today: Trump thinks the courts might save him from impeachment. It doesn’t work like that. Asked during a Q&A session with reporters whether he’s concerned about getting impeached, Trump said, “I can’t imagine the courts allowing it. I’ve never gone into it — I never thought that would even be possible to be using that word. To me it’s a dirty word, the word ‘impeach.’ It’s a dirty, filthy, disgusting word.”

When Trump posted tweets suggesting he’d appeal his impeachment to the Supreme Court, the courts have nothing to do with it. Impeachment is a congressional process: Without a dramatic change in the Constitution, Trump’s suggestion of appealing an impeachment conviction to the Supreme Court is genuinely absurd. The Constitution establishes that “the House ... shall have the sole Power of Impeachment” and that “the Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.”
