Signym, I fail to see why Trump was worried about what Mueller might have found on the Russians.
SECOND, I fail to see that Trump WAS worried about "the Russians".

Just because Trump repeatedly called the Mueller investigation a "witch hunt" doesn't mean that he was worried about the Russians, or even that he was worried about what someone might find concerning collusion*. Being maliciously prosecuted would be enough to get anyone pissed off, ESPECIALLY if you know that you're innocent, and ESPECIALLY if you know that this politically-based prosecution will have real-life political consequences.

You're either stupid or you're lying when you keep insisting that Trump was worried about "the Russians". Given your history, I think you're just lying.

"Nyet Yet A Crime" -- Trump campaign slogan for 2020, showing that he has no reasons not to accept help from foreign nationals. That is a shorter slogan than "Make America Great Again".

OK, here is the beginning part of my analysis of your linked article. I will try to clarify what the article garbles ...

The article says that the indictment says that there is a link between the spearphishing campaign which wormed its way into the DCCC and eventually the DNC computers, dcleaks, and guccifer2.0.

They claim that the connection between the spearphishing campaign using a Bitly account and the Malyasian VPN server which hosted the DCleaks.com account was an email used to establish both. Also, if I understand them correctly, both the Bitly account and the DCLeaks.com account were paid from the same cryptocurrency account. (If this was a Russian operation it seems awfully sloppy.) So the spearphising operation and DCleaks are linked, according to the indictment.

They then claim that the VPN account DCleaks logged into Guccifer2.0's Twitter account, proving (in their view) that Guccifer2.0 was linked to both DCLeaks and the spearphishing.

Now, comes the important part of the article ...

Quote:

“What isn’t mentioned in the indictment is that, on one occasion, someone reportedly logged into the @Guccifer_2 Twitter account without connecting to a VPN service first, revealing their real IP address ... “U.S. investigators [who?]identified Guccifer 2.0 as a particular GRU officer working out of the agency’s headquarters on Grizodubovoy Street in Moscow.”

So, the connection between Guccifer2.0 and Russia ISN'T in the indictment. At least, not so far.

But the article keep banging away at this PRESUMED connection as if were in the indictment, and real, instead of something that somebody "reported" once upon a time.

Signym, you don't have to protect Russia from false accusations of hacking. Mueller can't arrest GRU Intelligence officers for doing their job in Moscow. If they broke American laws, so what? Putin already said the GRU did no such thing, and that should satisfy you. But even if it does not, Putin won't extradite his employees to some Kangaroo Court prosecution by Mueller in America.

Signym, you don't have to protect Trump, either. Whatever he did is not illegal because the newly drafted Foreign Interference in American Elections Act of 2019 is not the law. The Republican controlled Senate will never pass that law. And finally, Trump won't sign such a law. It would require candidates or campaign aides to refuse assistance from any foreign government and to tell the FBI about such offers within 72 hours of being contacted. It would apply even to volunteers.

Lying again SECONDRATE?

Who says I'm trying to protect Russian GRU officers?

I'm just trying to get to the truth, something that you (and a few other peopke around here) seem to be allergic to.

All of those lies about Iraq's nonexistent WMD had real-world consequences, not just for Iraq but for us. Those lies about Libya, Syria, and Ukraine had real-world consequences too, just like those lies about Vietnam had consequences for you,

As a nation and a people, we can't possibly choose a wise course of action if we don't have a solid understanding of events. It would be worse than trying to drive a bus whle hallucinating.

So, why are you defending hallucinating?

Aren't you a delicate soul, Signym. You mentioned Bush/Cheney's imaginary Iraqi WMDs justifying a real Iraqi Invasion, but I'm fairly sure that Trump is not planning a Russian invasion based on real Russian hacking. What would be Trump's justification? The Russians were simply doing their job of harassing their political enemy -- Hillary. Trump was the beneficiary, but that's not illegal for Trump to benefit because the "Foreign Interference in American Elections Act of 2019" was not law in 2016 and won't be in 2020. Signym, why make a big deal out of pretending the Russians didn't do what was done? That only encourages the Russians to more daring exploits. Nobody was hurt by the Russians except for Hillary's feelings.

Trump ran on the promise of normalizing relations with Russia. Now, personally, I'm all for negotiating down the threat of Nuclear Armageddon with the only other nuclear superpower on the planet, if such can be arranged. Much of our foreign policy (and military expenditures) are driven by reflexive anti-Russian sentiment, which is fostered by stampeding our entire population with tin-foil-hat conspiracies a la Rachel Maddow, and ... you.

Signym, you should be having doubts that Trump intends to negotiate "down the threat of Nuclear Armageddon with the only other nuclear superpower on the planet, if such can be arranged".

Why, you ask? Because:

Trump announced in October that he plans to “terminate” the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, raising concerns about the return of Cold War-style tensions over U.S. and Russian deployments of intermediate-range missiles in Europe and elsewhere.
www.armscontrol.org/act/2018-11/news/trump-withdraw-us-inf-treaty

The U.S. Department of Energy has started making a new, low-yield nuclear weapon designed to counter Russia. The National Nuclear Security Administration says production of the weapon, known as the W76-2, has begun at its Pantex Plant in the Texas Panhandle.
www.npr.org/2019/01/28/689510716/trump-administration-begins-productio
n-of-a-new-nuclear-weapon

Trump’s plan to expand America’s nuclear arsenal is encountering sharp opposition in the Democratic House of Representatives, with critics saying the administration is creating unnecessary risks to world peace—particularly by adding new tactical nuclear weapons that can be used in a conventional war. The debate is potentially set to come to a head in June, when the House will begin marking up the annual defense policy bill.

The clash comes at a pivotal moment for global arms control. The Trump administration is seriously considering dismantling at least one treaty with Russia that has set arms control policy for the past 30 years.

Of course I'm concerned. I think this is one of those real world consequences of that massive deep state DISINFORMATION CAMPAIGN that you and Rachel Maddow are so intent on pushing.

If you haven't noticed, I just called you a liar, again.
