Well, that certainly explains why he never goes by his first name...

Alan himself actually confirmed this months ago here on FFF.net.

Thank you so much for that link. I will watch it 9000 times.

Anybody else have funky audio? Little bit of cutting out?

As for him posting that here months ago, it's not like we could be 100% positive that was him. Far be it from me to disbelieve, but trolls have done nastier things.

Now who's going to get on over there to the IMDB and change it? And tell all the poor people who put "Warren" in their fanarts that that's just not the case?

I always liked Hoban Washburn (had a more geeky piloty sound to it), but was thoroughly convinced it was Warren...now I am convinced otherwise...unless of course this turns out to be a Joss/Alan practical joke because they know the debate...then of course I'll change my mind again...but I am certain it is legit, so I am fixing the one (maybe 2) pieces of fanart I have with "Warren".

Here's hoping it doesn't change again. LOL!

I just went over to the IMDb and sent them an update notice about Wash's name. So there's the answer to your question SARAHETC.

Somehow "Wash Warren" or even "Washington Warren" didn't quite fit the character for me. "Hoban Washburn," though? It sounds cool - and would have had a HIGH-larious explanation attached to it, for sure and for certain - but I'm scratching my head as to how the almighty Joss came up with that one.

Might have to go over to "Behind the Name" and see if Hoban is real or not.

It is so cool that he confirmed that there "WILL" be another installment or 2!!!

Also, he seemed ok with the delay to September, so I will try to be as well.

Well, I can't confirm a Hoban but the Washburn can be easily explained. A) It's really a name and B) When a jet engine "burns" it leaves a "wash" (the heat distortion behind the fire combined with the exhaust of burned fuel). So there you go. "Washing" or "washing out" is also slang for losing control of the plane, but I don't see our boy Hoban doing that...unless he had a rough go of flight school...from fry cook to ace pilot? Not something one does overnight. :)

So now onto bigger issues...what is Zoe's maiden name? :P

Hey, thanks for the link. That was a cool interview. I'm sure you've all noticed how they all seem to bite their tongues whenever the question of Firefly coming back to television is brought up. I know there are the contract issues to dance around and such, but what I find really interesting is that, even thought they apparently can't talk about it, they all seem to want the show back on television as much as we do. I just think that's an amazingly cool thing, even if it never happens. How many movie stars are itching to get back onto a television series? Those kinds of aspirations are usually in the other direction. Firefly was definitely something special and I'll always feel fortunate to have been there when it happened.
