It would have to end up being some kind of team effort of Godzilla monsters and mankind against the nebulous Cloverfield menace for it to make any sense. I think Godzilla alone would just get crushed.

Well, from the 1st Cloverfield movie, Godzilla wouldn't have much of a problem. Cloverfield is roughly the same as the female MUTO, and Godzilla tossed her around like a ragdoll. Now, with the other Netflix versions, I guess it gets debatable.
I had an idea where Godzilla could appear in the Pacific Rim 'verse, get misidentified as a alien Kaiju, but then the humans would come to their senses and see he's on their side, as a protector of the Earth.

The basic synopsis of my Pacific Rim / Godzilla cross over goes like this...
Rift opens up. 1, then 2 monsters emerge. Alerts are sent out, Jaeger teams assembled, and are quickly on their way to face the threat, head on.
Jaegers are on the scene, kaiju are being tracked. 1, 2, … wait, what's that ? A 3rd signal, very big, but moving fast.. how come we didn't get the alert from the breech ? Never mind, time to fight !
The original 2 kaiju begin to engage the jaegers. One lands a massive blow, knocking a jaeger off balance. Everyone waits for the other kaiju to engage...
Nothing happens.
Even the first kaiju takes a moment, turns, and wonders what's keeping his partner.
The partner will never come.
The water boils, and then we see the head of the other kaiju break the surface. But only the head. It rises up, but ..., something is immediately wrong. Instead of where a body should be, the massive arm of … something else, holding the now severed head.
They soon see to what the arm belongs … it's the arm of Godzilla , and he's looking for more heads to take !

I don't know anything about Pacific Rim. Was that any good?
I think the problem with Godzilla vs the Netflix Cloverfield movies would be different depending on the movie. In 10 Cloverfield Lane, I get the feeling he'd be outnumbered about a million to 1. Really, the only scene I've seen from Paradox was the final scene where the monster looks to be around 20 to 50 times larger than Godzilla.
Even in the original Cloverfield, who knows how that would go. We really didn't get much of an idea of what was happening, from the limited perspective of the found footage. If I remember right, there were two or possibly three giant monsters that we were aware of, but there were also an unknown amount of those smaller ones that we knew little about. Were they just parasites of the larger monsters? Were they offspring that would eventually grow to be the size of the giants?

I didn't expect much from Pacific Rim, but eventually saw it, and was pleasantly surprised.
Don't get me wrong, it still a bit cheesy and all, but it was also cleverly done.
Plus... Idris Elba. Nuff said.
As for G v C, I was only aware of one main Cloverfield monster, that tore up NYC. The little hatchlings or what ever, would be inconsequential.
In the Nexflix Paradox version, the one giant Cloverfield could be deceptive. We simply don't know how big it is, on what it's standing... but did you see the animated Godzilla on Netflix ? Godzilla Earth ?
There are many YouTubers who have waded into this discussion. Here's one.

Ok, I just saw the trailer you posted, and although I'm not a fan of these movies, it looks interesting.

OK, I get it. Kaiju movies not for everyone. I don't like Transformers, so there's that. But this... this is next level stuff.Select to view spoiler:
Just curious as to how we expect Godzilla to suruvive this massive Titan cage match, where he beats / is the last one standing - Ghidorah, but then somehow we're expected to believe Kong would have any chance ? Maybe they'll not actually ' fight ' each other this time ? Unless it's RIGHT after , and Godzilla isn't recovered, but that'd just be bad writing. Anyway …

I don't even know who Idris Elba is man. Maybe that shows how out of the Hollywood loop I am these days?
That was an interesting video. He clearly seems to think the Cloverfield monster at the end of Paradox is a lot smaller than I did.
I don't think we're asking the right questions here though...
Does the Cloverfield universe deserve a spot next to the Godzilla universe?
Sure... I was never a fan of the cheezy old flicks myself, and the Matthew Broderick movie was a huge disappointment, but the whole universe has a storied history and is beloved by a lot of fans, for generations now.
And sure... I LOVED Cloverfield, and even though the Cloverfield universe was shoe-horned into 10 Cloverfield Lane after the fact, I think I liked that one even more. Paradox though, held no interest for me, and it seems that it didn't go over too well with audiences either.
I'm kind of coming from the other side of the argument about how much merit the Godzilla flicks have, and I still wonder if Cloverfield even deserves the Ultra-Heavyweight bought against Godzilla.
I think Cloverfield has a lot to prove before that.

First of all, I say forget Cloverfield as any sort of a cross over. The NY movie was interesting, but then we got the Paradox, and all hell breaks loose. Alternate realities, monster dimensions, and excuse me, but what is the biological purpose of a 6,000 ft tall creature anyways ? It could NOT exist in our world, at least not for very long. Damn thing would starve , or die from lack of oxygen... it's beyond silly.
Idris Elba is a bad ass British actor. Likely you'd recognize him.
Godzilla 1998 was a disaster. 'zilla wasn't even in the same league as Godzilla. It made no sense... created in the S. Pacific, then swims around to lay eggs in … NYC ?? Stupid.
There are reportedly 17-19 Titans already in the Legendary Godzilla ' monster verse '.
Cloverfield can suck it.

I try to not be too bothered by those copying Firefly.
Zoic with Firefly integrated the camera shake into the CGI shots, and that was the innovation. Camera shake was already a thing. But for CGI, the shot cannot be shaky when filmed - unlike how Blair Witch did it. The CGI frame shots must be filmed in steady cam, and then the CGI can process the frames within the flow of action, and then afterwards the shake can be injected for the final effect. This was counterintuitive because the sense was that CGI would provide better resolution, detail, focus, and not the shakiness.

I hear ' shaky cam ', I think of what we first got with Blair Witch. As a means of telling a story, from the perspective of a person holding a camcorder, or videoing from their phone. Blair Witch, maybe a couple of other horror movies, and then Cloverfield, were the main feature movies to employ this feature through out the movie.
What Firefly did, aside from reintroduce lens flare, was to incorp brief out of focus shots, then quick zoom ins. Think the first heist from the pilot ep, or the ship coupling scene from Bushwhacked.

The high speed chase shots, like also in The Message.
