Well, I went for my early mammogram yesterday. I was late to the appointment as missed buses and bus break down happened.
When I get there the nurse doing the test seemed to wonder why I was there has I have had two biopsies done and both came back negative. They feel that why then maybe next year I won't bother.
Also because I am doing so much heavy work around this place I have lost 4pds over the last year or whatever.

Great to hear about your dog, Sigs.
And great news about the mammogram, Brenda.
I wouldn't just take somebody's word for it that you don't need to get checked though. My old man was telling me that he used to get one of those colonoscopies fairly regularly after something benign but noteworthy was found a while back. However, they're saying that "new studies" have said that they don't need to be done so frequently, but his doctor at the VA was honest with him and told him that he doesn't agree and that it's just a way for the ass-hats on top to save money.
I don't know anything about mammograms, or at what age and what frequency one should be getting them, but I would look into that and fight them on it if you feel strongly otherwise.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

I'm not and my GP is a worrier as my mom had colon cancer.
I think this nurse's point was since the biopsies were negative then I have nothing to worry about.
Any cancer tests are my decision. So, I will see what next year brings.
Mammograms in Canada are recommended by the Canadian Cancer Society to be done once a year after you hit age 50. You stop when you are over 70 if they have always been clear.

Since dear daughter loves snow, took her up into the mountains to see the last of the snow. The route we took was thru a pass and up the backside. It's been years and years and years and years since I was up there; I forgot how desert-like the backside of the mountains are at their base. It was kind of a unique experience, traveling from desert scrub (yucca, saltbush) up into pines and snow. There were a few ski slopes that were still open, and even tho the temp was around 55F and the snow was slushy there were still a few people getting in their last runs of the season. Dear daughter thought she might like to try skiing next year: gulp! Last time I went skiing was 35 years ago. But it's something to plan on for next year; maybe if my knees are in better shape I can go too.
Windows are installed, needs inspection before the contractors can button up the walls. One project down; a couple of dozen more to go.
Weather has been dry and varying between cool and sunny to hot and sunny. I assumed that the last storm was the last of the season, but even tho this weekend is predicted to be 85F next weekend we may get more rain. Crazy weather, for Socal!
Easter coming up. Need to do something special with the family and send flowers to my aunts and uncles and cousins back east. The previous generation is quite elderly, my generation is old; my nieces and nephews and second cousins are all grown up. Hard to believe how much time has passed. The decades seem so eventful; they went by in a flash.

Thanks Jack. It sounded pretty positive Thursday when I spoke to the lady. Will have a better idea of everything tomorrow.
