REAVERBOT, this is for you. I think you'll like it. It starts at about 19:00.

That collapse will happen first. Then, nature really takes its course.
I think some people fantasize that they'll somehow survive it, but the planet won't allow it. Pretty much everything's going to die. Few organisms will survive, and we won't be among the ones that do.
This is the 6th extinction, followed by the 6th reset. No dinosaurs, no people. Other things will evolve to take our places over billions of years. We are insignificant lifeforms on a tiny planet in an uncaring universe.

Documents detail multimillion-dollar ties involving EPA official, secretive industry group
Bill Wehrum's firm worked extensively to coordinate the power industry’s strategy against the Obama-era regulations.

The biggest US coal-burning power companies paid a DC lobbying firm millions to tear down Obama enviro rules. Then one of its lobbyists became EPA's top air regulator. We reveal these companies -- and we have the receipts.

So if we're all dead already, then why do you let any of this other shit bother you, Marcos?
You should probably just get off the internet and try to enjoy whatever time you have left.

A serious plan about climate change — really serious — can demand only a teeny-tiny sacrifice from people. Maybe none, in fact, because they are just passengers, not the airline pilot. You will never get widespread support for any plan that requires people to give up stuff.
The “problem” is not climate change and never has been. The problem is how to get public support to do something about climate change. That’s what you need to pour all your energy into. Here’s a four-step plan:
1) Lots and lots of subsidies for renewable energy, energy efficiency, electrification, etc.
2) Huge sums of money for R&D into renewable energy and carbon sequestration.
3) A strong focus on job creation.
4) A whopping big carbon tax that mostly hits the affluent, with plenty of deficit spending to make up the rest.
This is, obviously, not feasible right now. But nothing is feasible for the next couple of years because of Trump. What we need right now is some serious thinking about what to do if and when Democrats gain the political power to do anything, and that thinking needs to unapologetically focus on how to demand the smallest possible sacrifice from people. (Not really a problem to demand a big sacrifice from coal mine owners. Trump propped up the mine owners and when he goes down then Democrats should make sure the mine owners go down with him.)

The question was directed at Marcos. I want to know why he gives a shit about anything else going on in the world right now if he's convinced that we're all dead.

Yup. But it's impossible to get a straight answer from anyone around here.
Maybe we should keep our posts to only one or two sentences from now on so they don't get so confused.

Quote:Studying the demise of historic civilisations can tell us how much risk we face today, says collapse expert Luke Kemp. Worryingly, the signs are worsening. "Great civilisations are not murdered. Instead, they take their own lives." So concluded the historian Arnold Toynbee in his 12-volume magnum opus A Study of History. It was an exploration of the rise and fall of 28 different civilisations.

You make all of these ridiculous statements, get called out to defend them, and then run away screaming like your hair is on fire.
