6ix, you have told your life story at various places at fff.net so I know you are not brave, but you share that quality with nearly every Trump voter I am familiar with in Texas who is not rich. The poorer Trump voters think they are brave and wise in commonsense, but they are laughably deluded about themselves, which why is they ain't doing that well. Changing the government won't fix what is wrong with their lives. They have to fix it themselves, but they aren't brave or wise enough to try an effective approach. They kid themselves about how hard they try. After they have wasted another two weeks or a month at a crappy job that they should have quit years ago, they can always fall back to the argument that it is the government holding them back:

I been telling for 5 years this one Trump voter that he needs to wear a filter mask when he is working around fiberglass and he needs to stop smoking to "clear his lungs" at break-time between working with fiberglass. I even bought filters and a mask. He wouldn't use them. Said he didn't need it. Now he has lung disease, cannot work, and in his forcefully expressed opinion it is not his fault. It is Obama's fault. Trump voters can't learn except from bad experience. And once they get the experience, they come to wrong conclusions. There is no gorram way for government to fix what wrong inside the head of Trump voters. They need to fix themselves.

That is a long wait for a train that ain't comin'... Being wrong only seems to make them more pigheaded and spiteful. I have seen people on this very board be coddled and schooled by some very smart posters, only to ignore their generous and patient council with very little consideration. Never has the phrase, "They are their own worst enemies," been more applicable. That is the majority of Trump voters that I know, the very same ones Trump wouldn't stop to spit on and yet they think the world of him, "He tells it like it is!"

I didn't decide to exit the rat race willingly and work at the best job I've ever had part time where I can virtually call the shots about when I work.

I didn't get beaten down within an inch of my life and literally stabbed in the back by 4 guys for standing up for a woman that I hardly knew. (Yup... that's posted here too).

6ixStringJack, have you been watching that show My 600-lb Life? Where they stuff themselves senseless until they lose their health? That show uses the notion that it takes courage to stop eating. I have seen the doctor on that show tell patients over and over that if they don't stop they will die. What takes courage, or maybe stupidity, is to keep eating.

I was speaking with a guy at the state fair who was at the republican both. I was to knowledgeable about the issues so he suggested I speak with his wife. When she came over it didn't take long for it to come out that their child had sever autism.

So I said, let me get this straight. Both of you are working hard to convince me to vote for people who would discontinue the very programs that helps you keep afloat? That helps to give your child a better life. I saw it in her face. It finally sunk in. Our conversation ended right there and then. Not sure but I think she is voting democratic now.
