Yes, I agree with you Jack. He should decline the invite to the House Party, otherwise known as the SOTU. Yeah, good move, go to YouTube. I'm sure his thousands of followers will break all kinds of record lows for internet hits.

But somehow I don't think he'll do that; he loves his ratings too much. Although, he doesn't seem to be doing well.

Legacy media is dying, bud. Pick any handful of moderately successful youtubers and put their numbers against CNN's daily ratings and they're beat.

A Trump SOTU on YouTube would break records. I'm actually surprised he hasn't done it already.

Cites? Verification? Are you including cnn's mobile and youtube channels? Are you thinking views are daily? I haven't seen comparing numbers like you suggest, but then I'm not the one saying this is true. I am doubtful.

I doubt that 100%. Not just because I doubt almost everything you say, I just think you're totally missing who the audience is for SOTU & Youtube. If possible, millennials give even fewer sh*ts than you do about politics. Plus, there's the draw of it being a live event for tv - not sure anyone will pull out their phone or computer to listen to Dump live.

You do touch on one thing, perhaps accidentally: legacy media is being squeezed by online options. This is why Russians and other kinds of $influencers are playing with (hacking) social media. It's practically unprotected and just as it's influenced you to believe in wild ideas like Pizzagate, it has had great success in making people follow and believe just about anything. Russia will continue because there's no cost to them. You can't arrest Russia. And oh, look - our government just took sanctions off one of their worst hacker/oligarchs, and has failed to follow through on applying sanctions for the Skripal poisoning even though we promised to. It's like we're sending them money - almost like we (Dump) feel we owe them for something!

Trump is laughing about NJ. I'm sure he doesn't give a shit since he wasn't ever going to win there anyways. Imagine the tweet's he'd be making in 2020 after he won, bragging about how he was the first president in history that was elected that was only on 49 of the 50 state ballots.

I'm not even sure if that's true or not, but I'm sure that Trump doesn't either. And I'm sure he'd tweet about it.

I'd be careful what I wished for. Personally, I don't have any problem with legislature being signed into law that says that anybody running for president (or any other office, for that matter) would have to provide their tax returns first. I'm sure it doesn't really mean all that much since anybody running that isn't a Democratic Socialist bartender has the best tax attorneys making it look squeaky clean for the public, but at least we wouldn't have to hear bitching about it anymore.

But my caution here stems from my desire to not open the doors for even more stipulations put on getting your name on the ballot. It's already pretty damn impossible to get your name on the ballot in quite a few states if you're not the Rep or Dem choice.

Didn't Ralph Nader only get his name on about half of the state ballots back in the early/mid 2000's?
