Well, I just ordered the box set after an unsuccessfull attempt to find one in town. Thanks for the web link. Got a copy for $56 inc. postage.

Hey, I'm just glad I've got something to fill a little of my time over the summer break.

Same here. Finished uni exams around the 9th and have a lot of free time on my hands. Hence the increase in late night television viewing. Can always sleep during the day.

I *wish* I could be watching Firefly into the wee hours of the morning. But uni holidays spell - for me - a return home to 'the country' and Prime television. And for some reason Guthy-Renker and Danoz Direct seem to have a much better hold over the coveted post-midnight timeslots than the best show in the 'Verse. Disappointing, to say the least.

Also disappointing (and disheartening) is the fact that Jothanax couldn't get hold of a Firefly DVD box set in... Melbourne? Perhaps we need to do a bit more submersive guerilla marketing in the Victorian capital...

'Yes... this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... "this land".' 'I think we should call it your grave.' 'Ah! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!'

Yeah, everywhere in the city I went said they'd sold out and more were on order - bar HMV in Bourke st. mall, where I got the last copy! :D

I was Minotaur (on Elizabeth St, between Collins and Bourke) the other day and they had one or two R4 boxsets in. About $65 though...

Well, I am NOT alone.

Brisbane here, and for what it's worth, I picked up a box set at HMV for $65.95.

Hey everybody!!!
Not that anybody will know where it is, but I live in Kalgoorlie- mining community about 700 k's East of Perth. Apart from those few I have converted, there is absolutely no firefly support out here. Not much chance that there will be either. You think you guys got it bad, but when they decided to show firefly on our local network (we don't get ch.7 here) they gave it to us at 1.25 on friday night, and they gave us 'Bushwhacked' first!! Not only that, but then they waited 4 weeks, gave us 'Jaynestown', followed by 'Our Mrs Reynolds' and last week it was in our viewing guide for us to get 'Out of Gas' and we never got it!!! It was in again for this week but I missed it because I fell asleep on the lounge. I swear, are they trying to kill any hope that people will go and see the movie.
And may I just say that I am VERY annoyed that we are going to have till November to get the movie. Why can't we get it the same time as the US? Well, at least Joss can count on having my support. And trust me, I will be dragging my friends along to see the movie whether they want to or not!!
BTW- Can't help on how or where to get DVD's. IdiotChild bought mine for my birthday (Thanks by the way for that)
Thanks for listening to me have my whinge. Now I can go back to my maths homework.

I looked around and couldn't find any existing networks just for us Aussie Browncoats.

So now we have one... Browncoats Downunder

http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/browncoats_downunder/

Join the list and get to know your fellow Aussie Browncoats, share stories and promotion ideas, and generally gab on about how hot Nathan is!

There are a few existing state based Meetup groups, so if there's one in your area, come along to a shindig and get to know your fellow Browncoats.

Victoria: http://firefly.meetup.com/161/
Canberra: http://firefly.meetup.com/173/
Brisbane: http://firefly.meetup.com/29/
Perth: http://firefly.meetup.com/23/
Sydney: http://firefly.meetup.com/209/

Oh yeah, and I'm from Melbourne. I organise the Victorian Meetup Group - we're very active, so if you're in the area, stop on by! Our next shindig is on April 20.
