I got the Season 1 Blurays as a present. I watched the first disc of episodes yesterday, and I just have to say that they did a wonderful job remastering it. I’m thinking they wouldn’t have gotten away with some of the outfits if there was HD back then. Wowza. I’m not sure if I’ll get season 2 because I really hated the direction it took the show.

Quote:I saw a clip of an episode with Erin in another slinky top, maybe green, and it was wet, like massive humidity.

It made me wonder if there had ever been Wet T-shirt Contests before, or if they were inspired by her in this episode. I really don't know the answer.

Quote:Do you think they added titillation during the remastering process? Or just faithfully reproduced it?

The Jiggle Factor was still in big back then, Charlie's Angels had already had nip slips, Three's Company had lots of eye candy. Buck Rogers was just conforming to the norm. Logan's Run seemed to be the costume template.
I mostly notice how much sound effects they copied from Charlie's Angels and Bionics.

Happy Birthday to Erin Gray.
And thanks to her for appearing on Battle of the Network Stars.

Quote:Some fans of Firefly may have never lived through the 70s and 80s. And many of us may have difficulty gauging accurately the level of clarity from that time, from recollection.

Markie Post running braless in those flimsy skimpy skintight outfits. I've forgotten what TV of 1979 was like.
Many episodes in, the resolution or remastering is still quite impressive.
But now on ME TV they are showing such blurfests as Night Court and many others. A fairly drastic comparison. No wonder The Jiggle Factor was so big.
