SPOILERS start on 16 February.
I just saw my first trailer of this in cinema, or anywhere.
It looks really good, I had kinda understood the storyline/premise before.
I have no idea why they didn't show it in originally scheduled July, or why not for Christmas, but now it seems we need to wait for February for it.
Can't hardly wait. Pumped for it.

When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize, she is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious history while her street-smart new friend Hugo (Keean Johnson) offers instead to help trigger her memories. But it is only when the deadly and corrupt forces that run the city come after Alita that she discovers a clue to her past – she has unique fighting abilities that those in power will stop at nothing to control. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she’s grown to love.

Although I've mentioned this before in other threads discussing Alita, I can repeat that I feel it sounds like the backstory from Ghost in the Shell, so that might be a decent refresher.
And James Cameron has been working on this since 2005.

I've been in since I heard about it back in the spring. It gives me the flavor of Dark Angel, and Cameron is behind this.....boy am I there!

Yes, I did. I was not impressed, not even ScarJo could save that movie. It was scattered and somewhat incoherent.
Battle Angel looks so much better though, well from the previews.

I have seen more recent trailers or clips, and they look straight out of the Maidenhead.
They should have released for Christmas.
