Corporate America's Debt Boom Looks Like a Bust for the Economy
www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-11-19/corporate-america-s-debt-bo
om-looks-like-a-bust-for-the-economy
Despite strong incentives in the Republican tax plan for American executives to expand, invest and ultimately boost the U.S. economy’s growth potential, a lot of the debt companies are issuing appears to be motivated by something else.
A lot of the debt issuance looks like financial engineering rather than investments in assets that will pay for the debt in the future.
If the stimulus from the tax cuts does NOT raise the potential for the economy to grow, that’s a problem. Debt service is going up while the economy isn’t generating more dollars to pay for it.
More than half of this year’s money was borrowed to fund mergers and acquisitions and leveraged buyouts (LBOs), pay dividends, and buy back shares from investors -- in other words, for financial risk-taking rather than plain-vanilla productive investment.
Mergers and acquisitions don’t create new productive assets. They are a long-run forecast by companies that market share is better bought than obtained through growth or innovation.

Quote:Dow opened today at 24,618. Dow started at 24,824 on Jan 2, 2018. I'm not seeing a Trump bump in 2018. Has he lost his magic touch to make the market increase? Or did he have no magic to begin with despite his bragging about himself?

The Trump bump got up to 26,828 last month. It is no surprise that Libtards and other math-challenged idjits like you cannot detect a more than 8% gain.
This month America voted to wreck the Economy, the Market, the Budget, the Debt Reduction, and Jobs.
Who knows why you are perpetually so confused, flummoxed, befuddled. Maybe lay off the Libtard Koolaid. You are acting as uninformed as the 18-24 year olds who came out to the ballot boxes this month but couldn't conjure how to fill out the Ballots written in simple American English.
That enclosed quote from me is from 7 November, the day after the Election, which was a day that I had pointed out always gains. As it did this year - yet another example of Market Timing. That day looks to be the greatest gain in the past 3 months for the Dow, so it was the best day to ride the Market to gain.

I heard MSM say that Black Friday had a 28% increase in Revenues this year.
I was busy, and forgot to mention that Wednesday and Friday sandwiching Thanksgiving are normally consistent in Market performance. I think the pattern is Friday almost always gains value, I don't recall if Wednesday's trend is loss for the day.
Sorry for the late notice (this year, but next year may be the same if Dems haven't Bankrupted America).

Well crud.
Tuning in my radio to my favorite program, I find it is not there today. Some bimbo about tech on instead.
Worried that Bob Brinker's suffered an ailment, I checked and found that after 32 years, he has decided to end his radio show.
He still does the newsletter and website, but those are just not the same.

Dow closed Wednesday at 25,366. This is 5.4% off the Record All-Time High.
The Markets have been a little roller coaster this month. With every news report of Dems Defrauding the Honest Election and stealing votes, the Market would drop drastically. With news of these Dem thieves being thwarted in their efforts by integrity-seeking reasonable folk, the Markets climbed.
Now most of the seats and the results are settled. On Tuesday the Dem threats that they would also steal the Mississippi Senate Seat were proven toothless. Since Friday's close, Dow has responded by rising about 1,000 points, or 4%.
