I think you should not only enjoy the diversity of hosting a large population of illegal aliens, you should also bear some of the cost of what you advocate for others (especially those of us in border states).

I am a sometimes state's rights advocate, and in this case it seems like it is pretty lopsided in terms of the impact of illegal immigration. So a definite case where each state should be able to set their own laws within some kind of Federal guidelines. Having said that it does make me wonder why I haven't heard Texas or California make greater demands of the Federal government (at least that I've heard).
I'm also unsure of the Sanctuary City designation. I don't fully understand the implications either way and I sure as hell don't trust any politician or many on this board to try and explain it. But I am curious why so many cities believe it to be in their best interest.

Apparently a few days ago my next door neighbor got taken away, reportedly by ICE.
In this Sanctuary City ICE has been rounding up a bunch, ticking off the Sanctuary City Police Chief. Not sure how they are herding them. Gobs more to get, still.
