Tons and tons of wispy rain last night. PERFECT conditions to really give my latest car fixes a test. She fired up without a problem and didn't give me any trouble on my trek home. :)
I'm still a little concerned about my transmission though. It does seem to be doing better overall since I put the Seafoam Hydra in there, but it's really sticking sometimes before getting into top gear and sometimes I'm hitting 3,000RPMs for a while before it kicks in and I'm only going about 55MPH.
I probably need to just go ahead and change the fluid now that it has had some time to get de-gunked and see what happens. Hopefully I have a semi-warm day when I get off of work to do it. Shouldn't be any more difficult than an oil change. Maybe I'll change the oil again now that I've flushed everything out with the seafoam too.

The weird thing is Kiki is this friend sent it a week before my birthday, which means I should have gotten it around my birthday or just after. We don't know what happened with the post as it is not close enough for people to start thinking about sending things overseas for Christmas.

Thanks. I'll have to look into that. If changing the fluid doesn't fix the issue I'm going to have to do something about it. I've come to far now to worry about this thing all winter, or even worse get stranded somewhere.

The filter is a good tip, and should be cheap. If you need to drop the pan to change fluid, the filter should be right there, easy to replace at the same time. Flushing a bunch of crud in your system could have clogged the filter. If it is dissolvable crud, you are probably not driving it enough to allow it to dissolve fast enough.
Is your ONLY transmission problem the shifting? That will mess with your traction come snow/ice driving.
Some Trans use hydraulics for shifting. Some shift based upon mechanical actuation, or air pressure, or vacuum, or computer processing of the speed sensors of Trans input and output.
How many months did you go without letting SeaFoam fix your problems?

Also jack, as I was thinking about it ... when my clutch went out and I couldn't shift out of gear (fortunately on a surface street instead of the freeway) it was late in the eve and raining. To top it all off, I had forgotten my cell phone. I was able to limp it in to a Target parking lot and after pumping the clutch pedal shift it out of gear and park. And thankfully the store was still open and they let me use a store phone to call AAA.
But those two things - a phone and AAA - really saved me some serious problems.
Perhaps you could invest in a prepaid cell phone for emergencies, and a basic AAA membership. And given where you live, maybe one of those plastic foil emergency 'space' blankets in case you end up spending time in a cold car.

Yeah. I don't recall ever owning a car that had working A/C.
I've got an automatic, so there is no clutch. Well... I guess I shouldn't say that. There's no manual clutch, anyhow. Don't know enough about it.

I've got "free" towing with my car insurance. Depending on how far I make it to work, it might cost a little money out of pocket. I've been talking about getting a burner phone forever now. Should probably do it if changing the fluid doesn't work. Blankets wouldn't be a bad idea either.
