Not hearing much outrage from Israel on the killing of Khashoggi either. They're treating this as a "strategic problem" for their joint anti-Iran program.
There's a lot going on beneath the surface.
Not too long ago, the M$M was hailing MBS as a visionary, moderate reformer. This latest M$M turnabout blitz is definitely NOT a case of reacting to Saudi's human-rights violations; if it were, they would have been on top of Saudi war crimes in Yemen years ago.
Right now, the only thing I'm detecting is a joint program between the deep state and the M$M to put Trump in a vise. I know I've mentioned this before, but the interpretation that makes the most sense to me is that MBS was Trump's anti-deep-state guy in Saudi Arabia. I'm sure you've been aware that MBS ran roughshod over a number of the other Royal Family (many of them connected to the CIA, the Bush family, and/or the Clintons), killed a few of them, kidnapped and extorted many of them; and that there was an attempted coup against him not too long ago.
The problem is that MBS is a very unworthy ally: Not only is he a probable psychopath, he's a STUPID psychopath and started a war in Yemen (which is going very badly) and a blockage against Qatar (a major USA ally). I wouldn't be surprised if he had Khashoggi killed ... In a Saudi consulate, no less! How stupid is THAT?? ... and I'll bet that right now the Trump administration is scrambling for a solution.
A few possible responses:
1) MBS/Trump allies (are there any?) in the Royal Family will put up someone else to take MBS' place
2) They'll dump it on some underling's shoulders.

The US has only 2 long-term allies in the ME - SA (petrodollar, est 1973) and Israel. (Egypt is extorting the US for aid money to keep itself on the sidelines re Israel. Turkey has only been weak, part-time ally.)
The US has forgiven both of its allies numerous atrocities over the decades. And as despicable as both Israel and SA are, this is nothing new or different.
But it's being whipped into a froth at the moment (hey - whatever happen to the outrage over UKRAINE!!!, RUSSIA!!!RUSSIA!!!RUSSIA!!! and ASSAD MOST GO!!! ... ?) to manipulate people into barking over the outrage of the day.
