I'm with Tieka on the Hong Kong thing. The only place I can think of where the Union Jack flies high over non-British soil in the US is the United Nations, so I'm going with New York for present location.

Wait a minute! When I post this at 02:30-ish CDT on 6/1/02, the time stamp shows up as 21:30-ish 5/31/02. That's ... oh. You're using GMT, like all sane geeks. Hmm. No hint there. I stick with New York.

Got the first one correct. Hong Kong was a British colony until it's handover back to The People's Republic of China in 1997. Though, from what I've heard, very little has changed since the return. China really doesn't want to mess around with their cash cow too much.

Not surprisingly English (and Cantonese) continues to be the official languages of Hong Kong, though most Hong Kongners I've met all speak with an Australian accent.

As for where I currently live, shouldn't be that difficult to figure out. In addition to the Union Jack on our state flag. Our local law is based, in part, on old English common law, not to mention that we were once ruled by our own monarchy as requested by King George IV.

The royal palace is only a 10 minute drive from my house. You can't say that anywhere else in the US.

There's a halting site down the road from us, where the O'Connel's stop from time to time. Lovely people. They helped us find our dog

I'm in San Diego, California, although I will be relocating to Arizona in a few months because it's cheaper to live there.

Huh. I married an O'Connel(l) lass here in the States. They spelt it with two l's, though. Probably cousins, of one degree or another.

We travelled full time until the mid-80's. Now we're about half-settled. We own a KOA campground franchise in Minnesota that is closed during the snowy months. During that time, we skitter about, a bit.

Actually, Tammy, we get down to Arizona fairly frequently. You'll like it, most likely, once you get used to the heat

Tammy, I *love* Arizona. It's a very nice place, especially the climate (I'm a fan of the nice, dry heat). Where are you moving over there, if you don't mind my asking?

While we're on the topic, I just recently moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida (well... Coral Springs, a suburb). I hate it here... I moved from Ohio, which I also hated, but at least the seasons change there! It's so very monotonous living in FL. (For the record, I've also lived in Utah, New Mexico, South Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, and finally... hell--no, wait--Florida.

Someone has done a lot of travelling.

I've lived in two states. Wyoming (winter, spring, fall, and winter for seasons) then moved to Colorado. (all four seasons!). Now I'm living in Canada. (Curling, hockey, mosquitos are the only seasons).

I like living in stable areas. No toronado's, hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods only every decade or so.
