Just to let everyone know who had preordered, and those others who are interested, the "Serenity Block" design by Wiley is now ready to print and we are taking orders for them at www.bluesunshirts.com - if you want it on a short sleeve T-shirt the price will be on the site, but we will be printing them on whatever you want, so if it is a long sleeve T, sweatshirt, hooded sweatshirt, ect. just let me know and I will get back to you with pricing- any color will be fine also, just let me know.

Fighting Elves is done, screens are prepared and will be available for order next week.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving :)

Alex

. . .the "Fighting Elves" graphics he has posted right now (11/08/04) are very nice, but they are NOT my designs.

I haven't seen the designs in the pre-order window change yet, so I was wondering when we'd get to see the actual design that's going to be used? I was under the impression that this was a joint venture between you two.

Not to be too nitpicky about this, because I'm definitely looking forward to getting one of the shirts; I'd just be more likely to commit myself if my little nagging doubts were qualmed.

Some clarification on the Hells kitten situation.
The Slims, and Serenity Block designs were created by Wiley- a very talented artist and fellow Brown Coat. The "Serenity Logo" design that we have was developed by Trevor (also a great talent and Brown Coat), along with the "Hands of Blue" work. I have the actual and exact "Serenity Logo" design as supplied to me by Aaron, who is friends with the artist that created it for Universal, however, it came with the caviat that it was almost certainly considered property of Universal, so I decided that it would be best to go with a re-design- as of late, we are thinking that it might be best not to print this one at all, for the same reason- I don't want to bring down any heat from Universal, especially since they were good enough to make the much anticipated movie for us, and this design in particular might be considered bootlegging by them. Although Hells kitten did finally contact me reguarding her art, and things looked very promising, her subsequent contact has been sporatic and now has not been back to us in a couple of weeks. Prior to her first contact, we had developed the Fighting Elves art ourselves (not too difficult really) using a couple of different trace programs on about 6 different screen shots I took from the DVD set. Using this trace, a pantone matching system that we have, and some help from a good friend in Bejhing to verify the Chinese as correct and accurate, we now have what I consider and excellent reproduction of the Fighting Elves shirt, but it was not done by Hells- out of respect for the hard work that I am sure that she put in to do her re-creation(s), I told her that we would also offer her Fighting Elves, and
Serenity Logo designs along with printing the rest of her work- I have not heard back from her , so these might not get done, at least by us. I can of course do reproductions of all of the shirts, just as she has, but I will wait to see if she gets back to me on that- no need to recreate the wheel - and we will be busy running the other shirts for a while... :)
As for the design preview on an actual shirt- on the full color work, they will be made to order not speculation printed like the Blue Sun and Slims- this is because I run the Firefly items when the press isn't working on our regular work - the setup for a sigle color shirt is not difficult since ther is no registration (1 screen) ditto for clean up after, but the full color designs can have as many as 8 colors, and take up to an hour to register, so we will be doing that when the orders have been placed- I do though have some examples of the Fighting Elves that I ran because it was requested for sale at a local Con here, so I had some free time to get it on the press, and I ran a few on the dark orange shirts for the fans who had the table at the Con. I will get a picture of an actual shirt up for that one later this week when it will be available for sale, but probably not for the others- all shirts will come with the same guarantee- if you don't like it for any reason, just return it for a full refund- everyone that has bought a shirt from us to date has been very happy with the quality of both the shirt and the art.

Placed my order for the block (along with a new Blue Sun shirt).

It'd be a shame not to get the new Serenity logo, as I was really looking forward to it, but that's definitely understandable. I'm not as interested in the fighting elves shirt, personally, but if that's the only other option, I might go there.

Thanks, Alex157!
