I got the DVDs last Christmas from a friend who was helping me "move on" from my Star Trek addiction.
Got my husband and daughter into it this summer.
That's three more.
(I have knowldege of a dozen other post-DVD converts, but you only want to count the folks who log in here to FFF, right?)
One more piece of turkey, some more stuffing...how many calories could that be, really? Aw, heck, let's splurge and have gravy, too. Man I *do* love livin' on Thanksgiving leftovers...

Never even heard of the show until months after it was cancelled. Not much of a teevee fan, what can one say? But FF is my one and only tv series dvd set.
Then I found this site. Wow, eh?
Please be so kind as to qualify me.
Or not.

First heard about the series last April when my son brought the DVD set over. The wife and I watched it that weekend. We loved it. My daughter has also watched the DVD. Should also state my son had watched a friends DVDs before buying his own. I have since bought the DVDs and they are now on loan to a friend.
Since I began to loan the set out, 6 friends from work and two of the wifes friends have watched it.
1 of the only 8 friends watched it alone, out of the other 7
3 wives, 2 girl friends, 1 husband, 1 boy friend and 2 daughters and 2 sons have watched Firefly. None of them have ever heard of the show prior to the DVDs. All said they loved and/or liked it. All said they would like to watch more.
Including myself 23 folks have watched the DVDs since they came out. This does not include a friend and his girlfriend
watching Firefly this weekend.
Still disappointed over the Serenity changed release date. Hope Universal knows what they are doing.

If SciFi UK aired FireFly after it was cancelled, then count me too! Missed most of the series first time around but caught it the next, then rushed out to get the DVD.

I am a fan after cancellation. I missed the show on Fox. It's tough to see Friday night tv in the food service industry. Thank God i'm out.
keep flyin'

Add me to the list of fans-after-it-was-on-DVD...barely remember hearing friends mention it when it was on F*x, but when I heard it was from "the guy who did Buffy", I just went "uh...yeah, right..." and never bothered to try to see it.
Getting the DVDs from them as an anniversary present converted both me and my husband, and I'm ever so grateful for that wonderful gift! What a wonderful surprise Firefly was, and I can't wait for the movie...(but will, with all the rest of you...)

While it was being aired in America I didn't even know it existed!
I became a huge fan by hearing about it from word of mouth- i love this show!

My son took a chance on the DVD's because it was a Joss series. He got me hooked and his two brothers. I bought an extra set of the DVD's to lend out. So far three other people have not only become fans but purchased their own set and are spreading the word. This isn't counting the fans my sons have recruited.
At Dragon Con this year Adam Baldwin(Jayne) said the opening weekend of the movie will make the difference as to whether this franchise lives or dies.
I plan to give away tickets if I have to! You know like when The Passion was in theaters.
It's a real burden being right so often.
