This is actually funny. And Nathan is the overarching focus of the episode, plus Sci Fi Convention cheekiness.

Wow, that was way better than most Castle episodes. And the final commercial break kicks off with The Rookie promo.
Excellent premise for traipsing all over a Firefly class midrange bulk transport.
If this is nonacting Nathan, then Castle was really close to real him.

I'll watch it next week when you don't have to sign up for anything. Don't get ABC out here in the boonies.

Is it bad that I actually would like to see him ride an elephant Bollywood style?

I immediately recalled that Nathan had always Mentioned how thrilling it was to ride horse on TV. And that he always rides the same horse, no matter what planet they were on. Figured he'd jump at the chance for elephant, regardless of the premise used in the episode - maybe he inserted that requisite when Kenny & Rick asked him to guest.

I assume that clip doesn't include any of the set-ups from earlier in the episode.

He mentioned 3 shows that he might be known for: Castle, Firefly, and the earlier series produced by the scriptwriters for this Episode. He says possible best known for Castle, but he is at a Convention for Firefly, in a Serenity set. IDK: have there been any Castle Conventions?

If you are under 35 you probably haven't seen Firefly, Castle was recent enough and mainstream enough that a soccer mom had likely at least heard of it.

That's all they meant. Firefly is still a niche audience.

When I saw the synopsis of this episode #22 and the title of Episode #24, I imagined this was a good reason why they were not consecutive episodes. But I wondered why they were scheduled to air in consecutive weeks, like maybe post production got delayed or similar.

But now I wonder if ABC scrambled to get Nathan into the Modern Family episode, so he could be in back-to-back shows, and delayed Finding Fillion for that reason?

Is anybody else planning to watch the Season Finale guesting Nathan tomorrow night?

Well, OK.
He plays a detective on TV, he's not one in real life.

This is funny.

Suddenly, I don't recall any Firefly ep where Nathan shared a scene with a dog. For that matter, any dogs in the whole series, other than the Pilot.

And then they end the show with outtakes, which I had not seen before on this show, the few episodes I've seen.
