I remember "Stand and Deliver". Edward James Olmos and Lou Diamond Phillips.
My mom loved "La Bamba" and it was a good film too.
Had a teacher in history class that showed "Full Metal Jacket" that was when I was in High School. Didn't know Adam from a hole in the wall. Not keen on the film.

The Saving film was about as much based on Niland as the Sullivan brothers. There was no massive search for Niland. Ryan never returned home or to the Rear Echelon before the end of the film battle, the whole film was about searching for him.
Behind was no more based upon O'Grady than the thousands of other Pilots shot down - what the S&R Teams were created for.
These 2 have as much to do with the topic as the great Jake & Rose story which Cameron didn't even attempt to display the actual cause of the Titanic's sinking - although his film was the first opportunity to show the known and confirmed cause.
Including them would be like including Forrest Gump.
Also, I keep holding back on Rocky Blier Story and Brian's Song.
But Brian's Song was really good. And 42 seemed pretty accurate.

If not for bafflack, Argo could be on my list.
But Munich should not have slipped my mind this long.
Next month is Chappaquiddick, but other than Kate Mara I'm not sure the cast can raise it above the despicable event.
I don't recall if The Help was actual or not.
Hidden Figures was quite good, but the only decent authority figure was the fictional character.
They weren't at this level for me, but did nobody like Free State of Jones, or 12 Years A Slave? Rob Roy? Alexander? Gallipoli? Papillon or The Great Escape?
Although the story is certainly hard to verify, Troy seemed to be faithful to the tales handed down from the ancients, and the dig site of that incarnation of the City seems to confirm portions of the tale.
Similarly King Arthur seemed to me the most faithful version to history (King Otha), so far. As more about him is unearthed, better versions might be forthcoming.
The USS Indianapolis is hard to watch.
Although not very accurate, U-571 was apparently loosely based upon Operation Primrose, HMS Bulldog taking U-110. Some of the inaccuracies may have been due to the sensitive Secrets, and lack of full declassification by the time the film was made.

Band of Brothers was based on actual events, with the usual Hollywood fictionalization.
But probably more accurate than most movies or shows.

That reminds me of the TV show Little Big Shots. Couple days ago they had like a 6-year-old Scottish kid. He was doing Irish Dancing. During the pre-show interview and background, EVERY SINGLE WORD the kid said had a subscript translation to American English. At first I thought it a pun. But during the show interview, sometimes the only translation available was from the mom.
