I am currently watching Age of Uprising.

Although fictionalized, Braveheart was based on the real William Wallace.
Secretariat
Thin Blue Line
Schindler's List
JFK
Not sure how accurate Black Dahlia was
Apollo 13
The Imitation Game
Although stylized, The 300 did seem an accurate depiction.
We Were Soldiers
Blackhawk Down
13 Hours
Silkwood
Miracle
Patton
I don't recall if Memoirs of a Geisha was actual, or fictionalized.
United 93
Tucker
Sully

Others mentioned in this thread:
Psycho
Phenomenon
The Entity
Fargo
Catch Me if You Can
Goodfellas (prequel of My Blue Heaven)
My Blue Heaven
Casino
Stand and Deliver
Private Parts
Angela's Ashes
Bully
21
Ed Wood
Cool Runnings
A League of Their Own

I liked "Schindler's List", "Silkwood", "Black Hawk Down", and "Braveheart" as well as "Apollo 13".

Anything else I will have to have a think on.

Although all based upon Ed Gein, I don't think Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday The 13th, Halloween, Manhunter/Silence of the Lambs were intended to be accurate. Seems the most faithful was Psycho, which was pretty good.

Some fairly good films are derived from various parts of the different autobiographies of Whitley Streiber. Close Encounters, Fire From the Sky, Communion, were liked by many. But Phenomenon was likely my favorite.

I really must include The Entity, one of the scariest of this category.

I recall that some films have been based on real-life exorcisms, but don't recall if The Exorcist was one of them. If so, it was pretty eye-opening.

Fargo.

I know the "True" disclaimer for the TV show is bullshit, but wasn't the movie actually based on real life events?

Good call. Yes it was, although some claim not. They occurred in late 1987 or 1988.

Saving Private Ryan? Behind Enemy Lines? Which of those characters were actual people?
Ghost and the Darkness seems much more fictionalized that I had in mind.

Good call on Casino and League of Their Own.

Since My Blue Heaven was released first, wouldn't Goodfellas be the prequel?

Saving Private Ryan- Fritz Niland
Behind Enemy Lines- Scott O’Grady

Both heavily fictionalized.

Great list, a lot of movies that I like are here.

But my absolute favorite is To Hell and Back about the WWII US soldier Audie Murphy...starring Audie Murphy!

One I didn’t see listed is Gettysburg.
But I’m a little biased since I got to see it with a bunch of reenactors at a special screening.
That was a fun night.
