Kevin Smith suffered a massive heart attack and lived to tell the tale.
He was performing a stand up comedy act and was about to go on for a second show, when he fell ill, cancelled the show and went to the hospital. Lucky for him, he listened to his body and went to get treatment....He Would Have Died otherwise.

I saw this. There was a photo of him apparently in a hospital bed, though he looked perfectly fine. That cannot be from this recent attack, was it? Either way, he is lucky to still be here.

He has often joked about how fat he is. I believe he may have lost some weight, but he still seems a bit thick in the middle. Don't know if he has had a sudden weight loss, but it seems sometimes that contributes to such attacks.

Not sure about the pic, but he's a pretty straightforward kind of dude, so I think it's a legit photo. And yes, it could be due to his weight issues. I know that he's yo-yoed in the recent past, so you're probably right.

I would hate to see him go, I really enjoy his movie reviews and straight talk about the industry.

Kinda hard to tell someone's physical condition from a single still picture, especially if it was after the procedure that saved his life. I have no doubt that pic is genuine. I'm more a fan of his early stuff, haven't really paid much attention to him for awhile now, but I do wish him a speedy and uneventful recovery.

I'm surprised that he hadn't had any heart function tests before, since he has lost weight. Losing weight releases all kinds of crap into your bloodstream. My aunt was heavy all her life and then 18 months after she finally lost it, died of a heart attack.

I'm glad they caught it.
