Good luck ;)
Just take it easy, it's almost done.
We're getting torrential rain here now. Almost all 20" of snow from the last few weeks is gone now. At least my sump pump seems to be working. *fingers crossed*
60's for the next two days, then a dip down in the 30's for 2 days, then every day the next two weeks on weather.com shows a high in the 40's. Awesome way to finish up February!
Do Right, Be Right. :)

Kinda wish we had more rain coming where I am. Then at least I could get more done. Still looking at a bit more snow for the end of this week and some into next.

Rain, for us, is always eight days away. I can't tell you the number of times this winter ("rainy season") that I've seen rain in the long-term forecast, only to have it evaporate five days out. Ridiculously Resilient Ridge Redux - Rewind! here we come.
Well, ONE piece of good news, at least! I don't know if I mentioned it, but we've been hiring a homeless guy for yard cleanup and gardening ... somebody we knew knew somebody else who knew this guy ... pay him $20/hr for 5 hours work, plus a home-cooked lunch and supplies to take "home". He's been biking 15 miles one way to get here, and bikes 15 miles back each week.
Older guy, 50's; guy has his head screwed on straight, not a drug addict or alcoholic, just made some bad decisions and lost his economic footing in 2008 and never really regained it. LA County FINALLY made homelessness a priority, put 1/4% sales tax to fund programs, and this guy FINALLY got into assisted housing. YAY! At least he has a place to shower, stay warm, and cook meals. And considering how cold it's been here, that's a wonderful thing! They said they're going to fix his teeth and get him regular medical care. We stay in touch by text; I hope to see him again this weekend or next. I have my fingers crossed that things work out well for him; he deserves it. And of course, he continues to work for us, if he so chooses. Or until he finds something better.

Snow again right now and I got to head out in a bit.
Nope, you didn't say that and that is great. And I'm glad he could get some help and has a decent place to live and all.

I may not post about it much, but I do think of you often, BRENDA. I hope for your sake that the snow goes away soon.

Ya'all can have the rain we've been getting.
Fortunately my sump held out and I didn't have any power issues, but my brother's basement flooded. It was a real freak of nature occurance. His home is over 30 years old and there was never a well or sump installed. He's not in a flood zone. We just got an insane amount of rain in two days on top of the 20 inches of snow that melted. A lot of stuff he had in the crawl was destroyed.
I'm going over there tomorrow to help them try to clean up the mess.
He's taking a positive attitude about it at least. I'm kind of worried they're both turning into hoarders and he's looking at this as an opportunity to let a lot of stuff go that he's wanted to get rid of for years.

If only the weather worked that way Jack.
Glad you are dry. Sorry about your brother but it's good that he's looking at this as a clean up opportunity.

More snow but I need a walk to stretch muscles. I am SO sick of this white stuff.

I guess my sis-in-law left with my niece all day and he got it all done. I called him to go help but there's nothing for me to do. I haven't seen my niece since Christmas, so I was really looking forward to that, but their washing machine busted and she's doing about 9 loads of clothes at her mom's and she took my nice with her. :(
Oh well... back to work on my project.
