It all depends where you are and how you look at history, it is true to say throughout history women could not vote, but there may have been some voting rights amongst elites in Rome, Slav, the elites of India, ancient China, Celt nations, Egypt etc however Roman citizen women, Athenian women, however in ancient Greece, were given no freedoms of any kind, especially when they were married. In most city-states, women were accompanied wherever they had to go, in Rome a woman of Roman citizenship did not vote and did not have the right to vote, there is of course the history and myth of amazon women. When Emperor's or the Military retook power for example Augustus' rule, inability to vote did not matter a damn because the senate lost its power.
There have of course been many, many, many matriarchal society throughout history and most of them collapsed with a few decades or generations. there is a society or tribe in some border are of India-Burma-Nepal totally ruled by women....another one in a mountainside jungle in Costa Rica, Akan or Rain Queens a Female leadership tradition of Africa, matrilineal society in Ghana and the Ivory Coast....there are about 3 or 4 surviving Feminist matriarchy in Africa and another girl power Misandry women first civilization of sorts in Sumatra, Indonesia I think...they have not really achieved much, nice dress, nice colored paints and cloths but squabbling and fighting in mud huts about who gets the nicest berries or more wood for the fire or who gets more straw for their hut....some of these society are kinda primitive and raw by modern standards but they are ruled by women.

Fair enough Kiki. I'm not looking to get into an argument with you about any of this. When you propose something, at least for the most part, you do it in a civil manner and your general respect for the person your discussing something with, for the most part, and the tone with which you frame your argument not only leaves the room open for debate, but (usually) doesn't leave the person on the other side feeling like they want to spend a bunch of time going out of their way researching things so they can turn your argument on its head and laugh at you.

As for the rest. Thanks for the info. I'm sure that there was some stuff that women invented, although "discovery" wasn't a part of this conversation.
