What do you view as common language terms for those colors?

Which is Sky Blue, Royal Blue? Are Indigo and Blue the same? Are Violet and Purple the same?

When I was in school, probably in art class, teacher said:
Red, blue & yellow are the 3 primary colors.
Green, orange & purple are the secondary colors : each one made from
2 primary colors.
But to make any of them lighter or darker, we need black & white also.
Black, white & all their shades of gray are said to be color-neutral ... maybe color-less.

It does look like ffff00 is what is defined as yellow. That is maximum ff for Red and maximo ff for Green, the 2 RGB Palate Colors which combine to make Yellow. Notice if the same equal balance of red and green are used, but the intensity is reduced, we seem to get the color olive.

But notice the defined color for Green - it is not maximum ff for Green. I had conjured 00ff00 would equal the defined Green.
