Hello all and Happy Birthday Eve!
Yup, tomorrow is my 41st birthday and here is what I want from all of you:
Tell me about something that sucks in your life
AND THEN
Tell me about something that you are thankful for that totally over-rides the suckiness of the previous thing.
Example:
Sucky thing: I am so lonely that when the dorky guy at work who wears reeeeally tight white jeans and dark socks with sneakers winked at me, it made me blush and I was secretly happy.
Thankful thing: Everyday I thank God that I have my health and that my son is healthy and smart and funny and thoughtful and (I could go on and on about him, but I won't)...
Ok, now YOUR turns!

Suck-a-liscious: Life in general with a boatload of tests that my entire college career depends on, along with one last semester this spring full of commuting and fun 400 level courses, my girlfriend won't talk to me at all and has slammed the door on my face (literally), and my college has given me a ticket for parking on a public street when there is no other parking available.
Awesome: Its almost the weekend?
LOTV: Ima-who-whata-whoichy-whoda-whazza--huh?

Your 41st birthday?
Why, my dear, you are still a child.
Why, when YOU were born, I was... uh. Well, three years old. I had mastered the walking thing by that time, of course, and The Real Mom always praised me on my vocabulary, so I believe that I had the talking thing down too. Walking and talking. What more could a young fellow need?
Well, aside from a G.I. Joe with Kung Fu Action Grip, but that's another story. Or an entire Major Matt Mason space complex. YES!
Uh, what was the question?
Oh, yeah...

Sucky: Huh, that's nothing! I am so lonely that when the same dorky guy winks at ME, I start wondering, "Hmmm... maybe I should try going gay just this once..."
Uh. Okay, just joking.

Sucky: It has been a long, long time since my soul sang.
Wonderful: I have FRIENDS. Also, I love my brother and his wife and their magical little girls. Yes, they are made of magic. I have actually seen them sparkle in low lighting conditions.

Awww... Keep your dorky guy. I really was only kidding.
HOWEVER...
* The Real Me high-fives Mal's green hand with his own green hand. *
Cool. Now we got a club.
"We're all mean...
Hands of green!"
Uh. Okay, I'll work on the theme song.
* The Real Me jumps in a hammock, gladly takes a drink with the little umbrella from Malicious, and happily drifts away to a peaceful sleep (spilling his drink). *

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MALICIOUS

Suck-A-Mondo'ism : Finding out your best friend for 20 years has participated in a malicious confidence game that involved a GREAT film contact and possible time to pitch a story - but it was all for a few hundred dollars.
UnSuck Mode : Not falling for said plan and telling the EX-friend EXACTLY what was on your mind and where he should place it ...
"Remember, there is only ONE absolute - There ARE NO absolutes!!!"

Ooh. I like this question. I think sometimes we focus just on the suckiness and not on the good.
Sucky - My third block class is driving me crazy. I have taught them very little of what they'll need on the End-Of-Course test because they are so unbelievably immature that I can't get them to shut up long enough te read a play. I leave that class every day with a headache.
Good - I'm moving to California to try my hand at my dream job in June. That's really exciting and scary. And my awesome boyfriend is moving with me.
"Dear diary, today I was pompous and my sister was crazy."
