I've been watching Jewel Staite act since she was 14. (She's 20 now.) She awed me back then and so I've always been critical of her skills for fear that she might lose that talent that she has. (It happens to young actors a lot.)

The best actors can convey thoughts or feelings even in scenes with no dialog. Jewel had such a scene in "Serenity" with the strawberry. I saw it coming and worried about how she would do it.

It was perfect. She never said a word, but by the way she rolled her eyes I know how much Kaylee loves strawberries. She's a master. I'm still a fan.

For those of us more ignorant of such things... which shows has she been in?

History doesn't always repeat itself. Sometimes it merely shouts "Weren't you listening the first time?!?" and lets fly with a club.

She's been in a whole bunch of things. She's quite prolific for somebody below the legal drinking age where I live. Among her better-known roles:
Nickelodeon's Space Cases
ABC/Disney Channel's Flash Forward
The Family Channel's Higher Ground (which, incidentally, I now wish I'd taped because it also had the guy who plays Anakin Skywalker and now I could be making bank)
And the X-Files episode "Oubliette," where she was a kidnapped girl who had a psychic connection to a waitress, and Mulder was trying to use the waitress' visions to track her down.

Yeah. That was Jewel. I remember watching that when I was a kid. Really all I remember is a rainbow colored wig, a girl with gills, some guys that looked like Klingons, and worms.

Hey, anybody know if that girl with the gills plays Elizabeth on GH now? That's been driving me nuts for weeks.
