It was a partly-cloudy morning here as well, and I was busy walking our new (formerly stray) dog with the "dog pack" (group of people who walk dogs together). I even mentioned ... "oh, this is the day of the eclipse" when it was just beginning ... we looked up, saw clouds, and forgot all about it. Didn't even notice any special darkness, maybe because here it was only 70% eclipse and 80% cloudy.
But I'll bet the total eclipse was awesome.

By the way, GSTRING, I predicted your response PERFECTLY
* ... and then you'll say I'm "too wordy". And then you will - as always- refuse to address the pertinent points, and respond with even more lies and even more bullshit personal attacks.*
And voila! Here it is http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?bid=18&tid=61835&mid=1

What I thought was interesting was that even though the sun was about 80% covered, it was still abut 80% of original daylight. Even the pictures I've seen in Ky were still bright enough to read by...
Y'all know you can peek at the sun for about a dozen seconds or so without permanent damage, right? About the 30-40 seconds is when it starts frying cells (depending on the person, age, health ect) and by 100 seconds you've done permanent damage to the retina. It's ok to peek, not to stare.

It's not all that big a deal to glance at the sun. Even kooky Bill Nye did it, while covering the eclipse, before totality. Watch the ABC special on the coverage, and damn near every reporter, meteorologist, astronomer, etc... who was talking on camera did a brief quick glance up.
Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

Well, you're not wrong about that, Bren.
If we had REAL ' rule of law' then there would be many folks being held accountable for using the IRS to silence political speech, running guns under Fast and Furious, lying about illegal e-mail servers, destruction of govt files and storage, ... the list goes on and on.

RapKnight has a pile of catching up in runaway threads after his Eclipse break.
