Starting a new solar eclipse thread

Haven't purchased anything/ gone anywhere special, but will probably make a "box camera" for easy viewing.
How exciting, WISHY!
Just OOC, I see that today is predicted to be the coolest day, looking at three days in either direction.
I don't know if they've calculated in the effect of the eclipse, or if this is simply based on meteorological conditions, so ... how about YOU?
Is Monday the coolest day in the Friday-to-Thursday forecast??

Everybody KNOWS that solar energy has no effect upon temperature on Earth's surface. It cannot trump the cows farting and man-made emmissions which strictly control Global Climate.
If what you are implying was true, then the wide variations of Sol's energy output would be the cause of gradual temperature shift on every planet of our solar system, which is duplicated here on Earth - and we know that only manmade efforts effect Climate Change on every planet in our solar system at the same time, including those on the opposite side of Sol from Earth.

Nothing but clouds here today. Couldn't even tell when the eclipse came and went. Must not have gotten that dark this far north.

It was interesting to see the moon kinda pop outta seemingly nowhere with the glasses on, without them on you really couldn't tell anything was happening. It got dim...kinda like it might rain... for a while, then the wind stopped completely, it got brighter and the wind picked up slightly. It was still so hot outside, we left my gran's early because we were getting nauseous.. She had hummingbird feeders out and the hummingbirds were going crazy drinking with all the heat. They were more fascinating than the eclipse.
We misheard a start time of 1:30, but it started about 12:45. Guess that was about the apex of the event...I was surprised that it lasted about two hours, thought it would take less than that.
Anyway, hype over...everybody go back to work! Save the glasses for seven years from now...(yeah, right...mine won't last the rest of the year, prolly.)

Yeah... that sucks. There seriously was zero change from a normal cloudy day up here. The bugs didn't even notice it. I was waiting to hear that eerie silence I've heard about, but it was just another day.
