okay, was watching more reruns and have noticed that the karaoke singing at lorne's club is pretty prevalent here in season 2. i have to say, all the scenes with the singing are ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! angel singing (or at least trying, which is more than i am willing to do) wang chung, wes, gunn and cordelia singing we are the champions while completely wasted. HI-larious! i was laughing so hard. i had to rewind the tape and watch it again.
anyway, just wanted to share.
someone should compile a "best of angel karaoke" video and post it (hint hint!)

At the same time, some of the most impressive Karaoke scenes for me were Darla singing to discover her future and Lindsey singing after getting his "evil hand"... *sigh* I miss that show...
Not as much as I miss Firefly, mind you, but I really do miss Angel, also.

true. darla's singing was pretty good. very reminiscent of a good smoky jazz bar/lounge. nothing seedy, but some little out of the way place.
have not seen lindsay singing yet. do not spoil it for me!

I actually was channel surfing and saw Lorne singing and had to stop and see this green thing with a beautiful voice. I was wowed and started watching the show. When I saw Angel singing, well.....I was on the floor with laughter and pain!

Y'know, I would rather listen to the off-key singing from both Angel and Cordelia than listen to anything from Lorne. I'm sorry, but I just don't think Andy Hallett can really sing, no offense to him as an actor. I cringe whenever he sings and always fast-forward.
As for Lindsey, est, that boy can sing. You'll get to hear him toward the end of the second season in the episode "Dead End."

really? i always thought lorne was pretty good. you do not need to apologize. everyone has their opinion. i always felt that he has a very powerful voice and it is pretty obvious that he has been probably trained in singing. i like listening to him. his singing voice is a little high pitched for a man. maybe that is what is getting to you? of course, his choice of songs is not always the best.

honestly, though, for pure entertainment value, i would rather listen to angel or any of the gang sing terribly anytime!

On the contrary, I love the sound of high-pitched male singers. It's the nasally sound I can't stand. He's always singing through his nose for some reason.

Rhyme, you crack me up! :D Angel singing "Mandy" over Lorne doing diva and Stevie Wonder toons?
Now, I'm with you on the Lindsey number all the way. Wow, he was great! But I do love that horned, green demon's voice.

must say i loved all the singing on 'Angel'. Joss Whedon clearly has a thing about music being a window into your soul... wait, didn't someone say that about eyes? anyway... just thinking of the singing/reading your future thing on Angel and the OMWF singing your heart out until you spontaneously combust thing.

I hope he's not offended, as an actor or otherwise. Has been known to post around here....
once or twice....
I liked Andy Hallett and Christian Kane, and both are on the Angel album coming out later this year.
If you liked Kane, their album is really good.
James Marsters with his band, Ghost of the Robot, failed to amaze me, but I got $100 for it on e-bay. (That did amaze me.)
Though I did kind of like his song "Dangerous"-the one song he wrote on that album.
("Mad Brilliant".)
I'm so sorry Andy's singing makes you cringe.
