Thank God for kazaa. I know that downloading episode can be a touchy subject, but it is the way a great show like Firefly can develop a world wide fan base and get the support it deserves. I have seen the first five episodes as well as the unaired pilot Serenity (Dam those weekly flights from Australia to America and back can be tedious) and I’ve shown a lot of the episode to my friend in Australia one of my friends who has seen every episode that I have seen loves the show as much as I do and all the other three friends who watched The Train Job either liked it a lot or thought it showed a lot of potential.

JONDUPONT the certain German Buffy site you speak of is www.buffy-tv.de and it use to have every single episode of Buffy and Angel to download until recently in the form of clips but not anymore.

PROTOTYPE what part of Australia do you live in I’m from Melbourne.

Heck, I download them. I'm only gonna watch them again anyway when they hit the UK, so I figure I'm OK ethically. But of course everyone says that :D. Way I see it, though, is that if no-one picks up the show, then this is the only way I'll have been able to see them. Once the show's future is a bit more assured, and I know it's not gonna disappear, I'll shift off the newsgroups and wait for them to air here. The thing I've always found about Joss Whedon shows is that they turn into a social event - when Buffy and Angel are on Sky One, all my local friends get together to watch it, and make a night of it. So TV is definitely the better experience. But if it flops, there's no guarantee it'll ever make it over here, and if you've missed the copies on the newgroups, it's a lot of work getting hold of them again. And the thing I've come to realise is that this show is so good that even if it flops, it's worth having watched it. Hell, I'd buy a DVD of it now if there was one (how many episodes to a Farscape twin box? Seven or eight?)

So don't think badly of me Mutant Enemy. I only do it 'cos I love you

Cheers,
Kithkill

Unless they put it in their profiles then no. And this should have been a new thread.

And thanks to you, I tossed my email in my profile.

www.buffy-tv.de isn't the site I was talking about, and they're still putting everything up AFAIK (normally only 60% of the new eps, though). They've definitely still got TTJ up.

Check out http://fireflyeps.dyndns.org/ ...they have VCD format versions of all the episodes. Also check out Kazaa, WinMX, eDonkey2000, or a slew of other file-sharing programs for more. Also, check out would be http://www.zeropaid.com ...which is the best site for finding the p2p program that suits you best. You can also use newsgroup channel alt.binaries.multimedia.scifi or IRC channel #firefly. Or you could always check me out on WinMX, I have all the episodes in SVCD format. They range in size from around 800-850 mb and when encoded and burned onto a high density cd, play as flawless copies in your dvd player. Anyone who needs some help downloading or burning or getting codecs or with newsgroups or with IRC or finding programs for these things; whatever you need to get those episodes, just email me at power_of_zero@hotmail.com, there's a good chance i can help you, or at least point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the info Zero!

Got any tips on fancy pre-made Firefly VCD case inserts by chance?
