What really happened: . . .

Curiously, the text of CNN's article conflicts with their headline. He signed the orders in the adjoining room where no one was pelting him with questions about Flynn and Russia.

Text of the president's comments to the press: . . .

And that was the presses take away? Nothing about manufacturing jobs. Nope. President move to adjoining room.

You've got a very optimistic view of Trump's nature -- what is going on inside his head when he is alone in the White House with his calligraphy pen and his legal pad of paper for writing executive orders.

Comparing Trump’s impromptu remarks with the actual orders he signed, three questions are answered:

1) Did he write the orders? No.

2) Does he understand the orders? No.

3) Is Trump nuts? That is a judgment call.

But Trump also signed a third executive order on March 31, 2017:
"Providing an Order of Succession Within the Department of Justice." Trump knows what is coming in his future. He will be firing his Attorney General, as did Nixon. With this third executive order, Trump has automated who is next in line. I see that Texas and North Carolina can take over when Trump does his own Saturday Night Massacre when faced with his own legal problems.

Second, Keep telling yourself that. Trump is a moron who stumbled into billions of dollars, and the presidency even though all the media and politicians opposed him, because we're a Russian puppet. Trump's not a savvy businessman whose message resonated with the American people, so they voted for him, and now he doing what they asked him to do. Because that's what it looks like from here. That said, I didn't say anything about what is inside his head. I reposted CNN's actual story, which conflicts with their "Grampa" headline that the thought-free zone was going off on.

Promotion from within is a standard business practice, and this one comes from Trump saying on the campaign trail that he would drain the swamp by promoting from within. Again, it's what the people voted for. Which is my point. It's not what I voted for, I voted for Bernie. A politician got elected and now is doing what he said he was going to do. There's no cartoon monkey punching bag, no russian conspiracy, nothing out of the ordinary here. Just a guy doing the job he was hired to do. That's not being naive, that's what's right in front of us when we let the clintonista fantasy version of events fall apart.

Thanks for posting the orders. I see he said specifically the US hasn't benefited from the WTO. Any liberal should be happy with that admission.

I'm not saying "support trump" but that these are issues one at a time, and sometimes he's right.
And sometimes I disagree but his voters agree. And that's politics.

Trump is not stupid; he is a liar and a crook. Did you forget Trump paying $25,000,000 for Trump U? That was a flat out admission he was guilty even if he says it is not an admission of anything other than he is a very busy man. Did you forget Trump’s promise to release all pages of his income tax returns? He released two pages from one year. You would conclude he is a liar if you could forget you’re his partisan.

The polls I saw showed Hillary losing to any generic Republican (other than Trump) by 14 points. She only had a chance because Trump is a liar and a crook.

Neither Trump nor Hillary got 50% of the vote in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Florida. But Trump got 100% of the electoral votes, 54 votes, giving him the win. Funny how Trump did not need a majority to win, isn’t it? Is something weird going on in the law of those states? Yes, somebody gets 100% of the electoral vote even if nobody gets anywhere near a majority. If there were three major Presidential candidates, Trump could win with as little as 33.34% of the popular vote, that is how weird the law is. With four major candidates, Trump could win 100% of the electoral votes with as little as 25.01% of the popular vote. That is how first past the post voting works.

If 12,000 bitter Bernie Saunders voters in Michigan, out of the millions who voted for Democrats in Michigan, had voted in the general election for Hillary rather than tell her to fuck off, Trump would have lost Michigan. The same way Trump would have lost Pennsylvania, Florida and the Presidential race. Those Bernie voters really showed Hillary they preferred anybody but Hillary if they coul

Change the Electoral College than Second. It wasn't rigged. It's been that way for a long time now.

How many millions of California Republicans are pissed off their vote doesn't count every 4 years? New York, Illionois, etc., etc.

I do believe that there should be some debate about this.

I don't believe in a straight up Popular Vote, but a lot has changed since those laws were written and I don't feel that they're serving us properly any longer.

Still a democrat here. Voted for Bernie, not for Trump.

And that's not a virtue whatever, it's actually true, and you should understand that is reality: The Clinton corner has managed to alienate people who are really not all that far from them. Twice as many Bernie voters voted for Trump as for Hillary, not because he's more similar, but because he was willing to pick up Sanders' platform points and she wasn't.

In the general election, I voted for Stein.

All true, but she was more of a liar and a crook

No, it's not, it's common. Remember Bill Clinton? He got 39% of the popular, and a minority in several states.

In order to gain any credibility on these issues, you have to be willing to condemn democrats who do the same thing.

So, turnout was lousy. If we are going to better turnout, we need better candidates.

Hillary's real October surprise was "I created ISIS" and a million people died.
That'd cause Jesus of Nazareth to lose an election. It'll certainly do it for a sketchy career criminal who probably killed her boss in the '90s.

which is how Bill Clinton was elected. Also Woodrow Wilson. Actually, Obama was only the third democrat in history to win a majority of the vote.

Which is what you're missing. This isn't sour grapes. We're not bitter. We actually prefer Trump (to Hillary, that is) Get a better candidate. At the very least we don't care.

Quote:

Those Bernie voters really showed Hillary they preferred anybody but Hillary if they couldn’t have Bernie. They were thinking Hillary was going to win anyway. Apparently, Bernie voters are not any better at understanding polls or election law details than Trump voters are.

Okay, fair enough, I thought she was going to win anyway, and she did, in New York, for all might vote counted. That, said, who did call this one correctly? But that's not the point. The point is I really actually did not want Hillary. I thought it was a ridiculous match up, but that's what happens in a democracy. Sometimes you lose. The GOP voters could have been sane and chosen someone like Marco Rubio, or Cruz, or Kaisch. But they didn't. And the Democrats could have voted for a sane candidate, like Sanders, or O'Malley, or Chafee. But they didn't.

So that brought us to here. I don't feel bad about not voting for Hillary. I feel fine about it. She was fixing to be worse than Obama. She has a long history of being worse than Obama.

Anyway, it's done now, and we have to deal with what we have.
So far, I haven't been horrified by Trump. I have issues with him, yes.
But what I'm horrified by is the behavior of the democrats.
It's some sort of obsessive powermongering.
They've clearly forgotten all about the values that they used to hold.
They've forgotten about world peace and American jobs and equality.
They only seem to care about power at any cost.
Including overturning a democratic election and installing a CIA coup.

Oh, and Russia. WTF? Trump sounded dumb talking about Mexico as the enemy, a

I did.

Actually, I've got a post in the prediction thread years ago that a white republican male would win the next election. No way in hell did I think that it would be The Donald back then though.

I recently found out in a podcast that before the election you stood to win $375 for every $100 that you bet in Vegas on a Trump victory, and only $20 for every $100 you bet for a Clinton victory.

I'm not a gambler, so I wouldn't have done it if I knew about it back then, but I'd love to hear the stories of people who made a bundle off of that one.
