The comedians mocking Trump:
Cartoon Donald Trump Is Visited By Ghosts Of Presidents Past
While the comedians mock real Trump, Breitbart and Rush Limbaugh are praising real Trump. Someone is mistaken about Trump. Guess who?:
In conservative media, where the claim originated, Trump has gotten credit for cracking open a plot by a “deep state” of critics and conspirators to bring down his presidency. And the perpetrator is former president Barack Obama.
“It would [seem] that the ‘Russia hacking’ story was concocted not just to explain away an embarrassing election defeat, but to cover up the real scandal,” wrote Breitbart’s senior editor-at-large Joel Pollak.
“Trump confounds these people because he’s always a step or two ahead,” Rush Limbaugh told his listeners on Monday. “It’s a direct line to the Democrat Party and Obama and members of the Obama administration that Trump is signaling, ‘You don’t face the usual feckless bunch of opponents who never fight you back.’”
Trump’s wiretap allegations completed a feedback loop that started during the presidential campaign and has gotten sturdier since. The president’s media diet includes cable television news shows, like “Fox and Friends,” where guests and hosts regularly defend him. On Twitter, he frequently elevates stories that grew in conservative talk radio, or on sites like Breitbart News and InfoWars, out of view of a startled mainstream media. Monday’s news cycle demonstrated just how strong the loop was, as Levin himself appeared on Fox News for 12 barely interrupted minutes to share his theory that the alleged wiretapping was a political hit job.
“Donald Trump is the victim. His campaign is the victim,” said Levin, as a Fox News “alert” scrolled over the screen. “These are police state tactics. If this had been done to Barack Obama, all hell would break loose. And it should.”

That statement is true enough.
The problem is that nobody can even agree what the facts are anymore.
Do Right, Be Right. :)
That's because some here fight hard to change what is factual. They do this for many reasons.
---------------------
No. It is because what is factual has become completely subjective. There is not a single news source out there that is unbiased.
It's become a game of you believe in your "facts" and I'll believe in my "facts".

Quote:I do. It's like comedians making fun of "Obama: the Muslim/ Kenyan/ Alinsky/ socialist".
Then you must have a problem with comedians mocking Trump.
Humor is a powerful weapon, and it IS a weapon. Don't think that people don't recognize it's propaganda-worthiness.

Funny, huh?

Quote:It hasn't just "become" subjective, it always has been. No news source can possibly inform everyone of everything. By sheer fact selection, if nothing else, any source is "biased". That's why you have to look at ALL sources, or at least a wide smattering of them ... CNN, RT, BBC, Infowars, Straits Times, Xinhua etc. It can be a dizzying experience: Sometimes there's almost NO overlap on the stories covered. It's as if we live in different worlds.

Not only that, you have to look at them with an open mind, but disengaged emotions. Be prepared to get out the mental popcorn: some of the most insightful news comes from the strangest sources. Over time, you'll get a feel for which source is best/ most predictive for what kind of news, and how they are biased/ who they are representing.

HAHAHA!
Curiously, the "stereotype" that many Asians confuse their "Ls" and "Rs" happens to be a true observation, if an old one.
1) I used to work with an amino acid analyzer built by JEOL (Japan Electronic Optical Laboratory) and I had one of those awkwardly-translated manuals/ troubleshooting guides. It didn't assume that the analyst was a know-nothing, and was therefore extremely informative ... but it DID have the random substitution of "l" for "r".
2) I used to work with a colleague from Myanmar ... same problem. I had to listen EXCEPTIONALLY closely to her, because in my mind I was busy plugging in "ls" for "rs" whenever a word didn't make sense.
3) Even National Geographic published a picture of a team T-shirt in Japan, printed with "Japanese Lock Climbing Club". For a moment, I thought they climbed "locks" ... yanno, the gates on canals that hold water in or out.

I haven't run into many Asians in the midwest, not being a City Boy. One of my best friends growing up was half Irish half Korean. His dad brought his mom back to the states after the war. She learned the language, but always had a heavy accent. She didn't mix R's and L's, but they were hard to tell sometimes. I remember her asking me if my mom "woked" and I told her that she likes to stay in shape. He told me that she asked me of my mom worked, and I felt pretty bad. She didn't replace the L with an R, she just seemed to leave the R out entirely.
I think it probably varies by location, but I don't really have any basis for that other than knowing one person who was from Korea.

I saw you post elsewhere that there's nothing we'll get from posting about all of this here, and I totally agree. I've known that since way back when I would just read RWED and not post - "futile! Puny humans!" - but I know how much worse I feel when I don't even look to find out what's going on. So, keep both your ears and all 3 of your eyes open Jack (ask Dream) and into the information breech! Before you jump repeat: "I have no idea, I have no idea, I have no idea..."
That's really just about the gist of it. Most of my news I get these days is stuff filtered from both sides by you guys and gals. I don't like giving the MSM on either side any of my attention. I don't need a college degree to know what is bullshit and what isn't, and I definitely don't need somebody who makes so much money that they can't even relate to the people they're talking to telling me a bunch of bullshit.
This is more something to pass the time than anything else. Break up time in between my current projects. One of these days I'm going to have to start getting back into shape and finding a job though, so my time spent contemplating all the BS is going to have to take a backseat to that.

Robert Redford: 45 years after Watergate, the truth is again in danger.

"In July 1972, I was on a train tour through Florida promoting the film “The Candidate.” Entertainment and political press were on board, and I heard them gossiping about a break-in at Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate complex in Washington. The story was being covered by two young reporters from The Washington Post, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein."
Oonj: I think that whenever I mention the 40's, WWII, radio for
entertainment ... I lose everyone in here ... almost.
Apparently, I have little grasp of how different things are now
than they were back then.
Have we ever talked about the McCarthy era in here? I doubt it.
Stuff like that about maintaining & protecting Democracy is really
important to know.
The very idea that we could & did elect a man like Richard Nixon
to be President of the United States almost pales in comparison
to electing Donald Trump. Appalling may be the best word for it.
Misguided a nicer word than Idiotic.
... oooOO}{OOooo ...
I've given up looking for the meaning of life. Now all I want is a cookie.
