Trump Accuses Obama of Wiretapping Trump Tower During Campaign

Donald Trump alleged in a tweet storm early Saturday that former President Barack Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower before his election victory.

Trump did not provide any evidence for the claims, which followed an interview on Fox News where the allegations came up.

"Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!" Trump wrote as part of a series of tweets Saturday morning.

Here's the thing: The president cannot order a wiretap. It's not in his power to do so.

For Trump to be wiretapped, a federal judge had to issue a warrant, which means a federal judge had to be convinced by a FISA court that there was probable cause that Trump either was committing, was about to commit, or already had committed a federal crime such as treason.

So by claiming that he was being wiretapped, Der Gröpenfuhrer is admitting that the feds had reason to believe he was doing something illegal.

Is that really what he wants to tell us?

Of course, for the dolts and morons who voted for and support him, that's all moot, because they'll never hear any of that, because it's not going to be reported on FauxNews or NotSoBreitbart, which is where this particularly scurrilous breed of dipshit gets all their disinformation.

If he'd try to understand something ( anything! ) that was not about money or sex or his popularity, Trump would know that FBI inquiries into ties between four Trump associates and Russian government figures had led to applications for two Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court warrants. One application was rejected, and then a second, narrower application was accepted. Contrary to Trump’s assertions, neither Obama nor any other President of the United States personally directs FBI investigations, and there’s no evidence that Obama had anything to do with this personally. Lurking beneath Trump’s conspiratorial web is simply the reality that Trump is confirming that the FBI, the intelligence services, and the FISA Court believe there is some kind of investigation-worthy evidence out there.

Nah. He's just trolling. He can't get a break for one single day from the liberal media throwing all sorts of baseless accusations against him, so he's just going to start throwing them back.

As for the idea that the President can't order a wiretap.... what world are you living in? The President can't start a war without Congressional approval. How's that working out for the Middle East?

Hey don't underplay your opinion because you aren't American.

Trump is a narcissist first and dire most. His strategy, unfortunately successful, is to keep himself in the news by making outrageous statements. It distracts from anything important being discussed.

Obama did that all the time. The only difference is he smiled at your face while stabbing you in the back.

Remember when the ACA was going to allow you to keep your doctor and American families were going to be saving up to $2.5k per year? Or how we were going to get out of all of those wars in the Middle East and bring our troops back home?

Maybe you prefer the more sneaky approach like when he gave away the reins of the internet to the UN in September? Or how American's saw on average a 12% decrease in compensation vs. inflation for their work over the last 8 years while corporations saw a 54% increase in revenues?

I could go on.... but I'm bored now. ;)
