In honor of the recent release of the first Revenge of the Sith teaser, I came up with this modified version of Supershadow's Jedi and Sith history.
I used AnonymousPoster's description of The Force and a theory on lightsabers I found while surfing on the net.
Not to make AP's mistake, here are the sources:

The History of the Jedi
Out of the great void came the universe, its galaxies, star systems and suns. Everything that exists, and will ever exist, was spawned from the primordial plasma of time's beginning. Over billions of years, planets formed, and life arose through a steady progression of increasingly complex organisms. Woven into and intertwined with all of this - from the smallest molecule to the largest star - is the Force. The Force is an essential part of nature - like energy or matter. It is a field of energy that spans the universe. It surrounds and penetrates all things. This energy field is made up of chlorian "particles" - subatomic, high energy, fluctuations in the quantum state of the space-time continuum. Chlorian particles exist throughout the universe as "background" radiation. Even in the deepest void of space, one can find chlorian particles. Due to the unique nature of chlorian particles, they affect both matter and energy. Chlorian particles are not true particles, but do possess mass. Chlorians also exhibit the wave motion properties of electromagnetic radiation. Hence, they travel through most matter at light speed, while still interacting with matter on an atomic level.
More than 5 billion years ago, the Vordarian Beltway Galaxy was formed by the gravitational collapse of a large cloud of dust and gas 850 trillion light years from the Milky Way Galaxy. There are approximately 400 billion stars in the galaxy. Around half of these have planets that support some form of life. Ten percent of those developed life on their own, and one in a thousand of these worlds developed sentient life (about 20 million forms of sentient life). The length of the galaxy is 120,000 light years across.
Roughly 25,200 years ago several groups throughout the galaxy were gradually becoming aware of some energy existing beyond the senses of most sentient beings. Those groups began to dedicate themselves to studying this phenomenon and learning how to master it. Those who do were dismissed as "wizards and mystics." Among the groups investigating were the Order of Dai Bendu, as well as the Chatos Academy and a group on Tython who worshipped this power as the Ashla, the positive energy of the universe.
About two hundred years later, the discovery of hyperspace and the founding of the Republic allowed scientific, religious and philosophical groups to congregate for the first time and compare notes on what they'd learned. Many were excited to discover common findings about a strange energy that comes to be called "The Force."
After combining all known information, what they discovered was that every sentient being--with a few exceptions--are found to have a symbiotic relationship with microscopic creatures that came to be called midichlorians. Since these midichlorians exist in a state of interspatial flux, outside of normal space-time, they cannot be detected by most conventional technologies. We provide them with a place to live and a way to nurture themselves, and they 'let us in' on the Force. Midichlorians generate a specific and unique energy. In a similar fashion to the way mass distorts the space-time continuum to bend the fabric of reality and produce gravity, the energy generated by midichlorians distorts the universal chlorian field. The presence of the midichlorian energy causes an increase in density in the chlorian field i.e. the Force itself.
Some sentient beings are able to exert a certain am

I really love it when someone gets down to the history and backstory to a scifi subject like that.
Thanks!

That's the right thing to do, naming the sources. You don't want to happen to you, what happened to AnonymousPoster. People freaking out because you forgot to name your sources and mention you didn't come up with this stuff on your own.
Oh, and let me just say that Supershadow.com is a great site.

CrevanReaver, when Revenge of the Sith comes out, remember to update that summary.

So do I. Two thumbs up to you CrevanReaver. As you can tell by my username, I'm somewhat of a Star Wars fan. Although not obsessed.
And that Supershadow.com does seem to be a really interesting site. From what I've read on other sites, the guy who runs it actually made up most of the "spoilers" that he has revealed. However, I do know that he occasionally gets something right. Like the plot of Attack of the Clones and now most likely Revenge of the Sith.

This is a theoretical Jedi history gleaned from a fansite.

There has been a belief in some sort of extrasensory energy among the sentients of the galaxy for as long as there have been sentients in the galaxy, or at least as far back as the historical record for them goes anyway. This belief predates the Old Republic, it predates the predecessors of the Old Republic, whatever they might have been.
The belief in this extrasensory "force" transcends cultures and species and worlds and with time the great thinkers of the galaxy came to the understanding that every aspect of the galaxy, living or otherwise, is touched by this force in some way. Predators can tap into this force to enhance their hunting instincts, creatures like the Ysalmiri can repel this force to protect themselves from these predators. This energy is simply a part of their surroundings. Every living thing in the galaxy senses this energy in some way, even if they are not aware of it. To the sentients of the galaxy, this energy is something of superstition, it appears to shift their fiction in unpredictable ways, it bends the laws of physics, chemistry and biology. It allows the impossible to happen. Somewhere along the way, sentients realize that this malleable nature of the force goes both ways. It can manipulate their fiction, and they can manipulate it right back.
These early "force manipulators" were dismissed by their cultures as wizards and mystics: people of questionable sanity who insisted that they could push a table across the room simply by willing it, or convince someone that these really aren't the droids they are looking for merely by waving their hands around and wearing a brown homespun robe. These early wizards and mystics are no more Jedi then you or I, the term Jedi relates to force manipulators subscribing to a specific set of cultural beliefs, that which would later fall under the control of what we call the Jedi Order. They are no more Jedi then Samurai are Knights Templar even though both walk around in armor with huge swords at their side. But I'll get to that later. Some of these force manipulating mystics would revel in their discoveries and live out their lives without passing on their knowledge, others would seek to use their knowledge to obtain riches or power, still others, use it to become respected village shaman, priests of their religions, or leaders of their people. This last group would take on apprentices and teach others how to be aware of this energy force, and how to tap into it and use it for their own purposes. Their knowledge is passed on and incorporated into their culture and religions, where it becomes encoded into mythologies and cultural behavior. Millennia pass and the civilizations around the galaxy begin to develop the technology necessary to interact with each other, like hyperdrives and communication systems that can send a signal from one side of the galaxy to another. As the physical borders disappear, cultures clash. Some are destroyed or assimilated, some forge uneasy alliances with each other and exchange information. The force aware of the worlds in the galactic community realize for the first time that they are not alone and collectively they start "comparing notes" if you will. The shared beliefs around the force are one of the few things that give the various cultures reason to talk peace. Different skills derived from the manipulation of the force begin to spread throughout the force manipulating community.
Philosophers debate the nature of this force with colleagues from other cultural backgrounds. But in the process they find it is necessary to create a whole new language to express their experiences with the force. The force itself is not a quantifiable thing. It is not something that can be scientifically defined, nor is it something unique to a specific event, like a genetic manipulation or stellar phenomenon. The only reason they are aware of it at all is because of the way
