IMO, doesn't matter.... If the book's good enough, and indications (from these posts) are that it'll at least be better than a waste of time, then, for me, the comparison of my imagination's vision of the story to that put on screen by the good folks at Mutant Enemy et. al., is worth the journey. I've done gone and ordered the book, thanks for the tip.
Probably better as another thread, but I've only ever seen one movie that turned out as good as the book, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest".
Anyway....
'sides which, workin' as I do in the flim post-prod biz, I'm gonna see this flick before most reg'lar folks anyway. Maybe not in sequential reel order, but linearity's overated, ain't it? (That's not bragging, it's a factory job, plain and simple). Still, a long time to wait.

Just wanted to say, my favorite part of the description for the book on amazon's page (other than the fact that it is there) is the page count-320 pages. I know this might be a spot filler right now but if it's not, 320 pages means a nice, long Big Damn Movie.

Its great to see the book available to buy but its a little dissapointing that it will be released before the film.
Besides which, having the book out before the movie is released is great free advertising for the movie -- bookstores are full of little posters for the film on their shelves.

I almost always avoid books based on movies, so I'll have to think on whether or not I pick this one up. It needs to offer me something in addition to just a straight retelling of the movie (most novelizations do, though, so...).

I can attest that KRAD is a good sci-fi writer; I've read a few of his Star Trek novels and they're some of the best.

Trade secret: Most of the time when you see a listing for a book that won't be out for a while, the page count is wholly bogus, or only a wild guess.
In this case, it's really bogus because I haven't finished the gorram book yet!

I didn't really think that it was true, I just hoped that it was a good educated guess. If not, I won't be disappointed.I know that what amazon says is not the gospel, I just had a moment where the hope of it got the best of me. But honestly any Serenity is better than none at all.

I like the novelaztions because I can read it when I can't be there watching the movie.
The Star Wars Episodes I and II books contained the deleted scenes in with the regular story, so it was a treat and as its a novelazation (and approved byt he screenwriter/director) the thoughts given to the characters are accurate and add to the understanding of the scenes.
