do we know anything about it?
will it be a retelling of the movie plot
(because those are tiresome IMO)
will it be backstory to the war?

will it be some lame book about meditation? LOL

who is this Keith of whom you speak?
Has he written genre TV tie-in books before?
ah, I found the answer to this one my own self:
he has written many Star Trek novels...a good sign
I think

I know...I'm full of annoying questions....

He posts frequently here and on the Serenity board using the name KRAD.

I think it's a novelization of the movie, not a separate story.

Its great to see the book available to buy but its a little dissapointing that it will be released before the film.

Lots of people are gonna know exactly what happens (who can blame them the temptation is definately going to be there)before going in to the cinema and the three weeks before the film is released are gonna be a bit of a nightmare on the boards while we try and avoid spoilers.

Having said that Im still gonna preorder it, lets try and get it to number one in the presales.

It's common practice for some reason unknown to me to release novelizations prior to the movie.

I almost always avoid books based on movies, so I'll have to think on whether or not I pick this one up. It needs to offer me something in addition to just a straight retelling of the movie (most novelizations do, though, so...).

I'll probably pick it up, but I definitely won't read it before seeing the film.

Great point about the pre-movie book publishing date and how that will make all FF boards full of potential spoilers (that many of us may be too weak to avoid only to regret later 'cause we're only human - read: "Milwaukee's Best Lite is on sale!? Cool!").
Perhaps the board czar can set-up a separate category for people that want to discuss the book?

Is the novel written yet?

Has Krad seen the rough cut or does he know the story yet?

I can attest that KRAD is a good sci-fi writer; I've read a few of his Star Trek novels and they're some of the best.

Yes, KRAD is very good. This is pretty exciting...I'm looking forward to it. I'll definitely see the movie first, though.

Although I wish the books release date was put back Im still really looking forward to getting this book and its encouraging to hear so many great things about the author.

Also having never read a novelizations before I wondered if anyone knows if its the norm for a novelizations to expand on the story or are they generally just a straight retelling of the film. Im sure I heard people say that the phantom menace book had quite a few extra parts to the film.
